Hey,
I am looking at adding an amp and sub combo into my mazda 3, I have learned that I must use a line out converter to get the sound from the rear speakers to my amp. My question is :
I see line out converters advertised with some "remote trigger"... what is this and what does it do?
thanks!

that is a low volt. line that goes to the amp to turn it on when the radio powers on......this is a much needed thing

so with this my amp will turn off when my radio is turned off? from my understanding this is what it does... so all I need is amp wiring kit, amp, sub, LOC (w/ remote trigger) ... install... and all done ?

yeah...you got it.....unless the 3's have an easy place to feed the wire through, i drilled a hole under the brake and ran the power line through there and straight back....and i ran the rca's for the amp down the pass side....keep those separate as much as possible...if you run them together you will get a ton of line noise
edit: are you buying the box or building, and either way make sure you get the right box for the sub you buy, each sub likes different vol for sealed/ported boxes

I bought a sealed box because to build I would have spent just as much plus time. I couldn't find a ported with the dimensions I liked and from reading learned sealed produce a flatter sound, a better box for a starter system

a sealed box produces good clean sound.....a ported produces GOOD DEEP BASS.....but i run 2 12" off a 1000 watt amp and the box is nearly 3ft^3....sealed boxes offer a better all around bass......i wanna build a new flat box that's ported and has a sealed chamber for a a 8"or 10" or even 2 6x9 so i can cover that mid range bass i am missin.....i have 3 ways in the rear doors and 3 ways in the front doors and eclipse 4 ch powering them at 100watts per ch

Yeah, I mean I'd rather have the ported box, but for now just going with the sealed... anyway, thanks for all the help! Would not have a clue what to do without your help

Okay, so I decided to go with the Navone NE-7V line out converter, so I will need to use the remote wire from my amp wiring kit to power on and off the amp... should I use the cig. lighter fuse block to do this? I can see myself forgetting to turn off a switch if I do it that way

what are you gonna use the cig lighter fuse for???the loc??

I will run the remote wire from the amp to the cig. lighter fuse because when the car is off there is no power to that fuse, so I dont have to worry about flipping on and off a switch... will this work?

no...to much power dude....on the remote wire...it's like 1-2 volts if that...very minumal

if the loc has the remote built it there is no switch....when it detects signal....it will send power through the remote....there should be no switch at all.......now i put one inline with the remote....that way i can turn my subs off if i roll into a neighbor hood that way i don't piss people off

I emailed Navone and he said theres another part I would need to be a remote trigger... an N-902 remote trigger... so I should just get that?
