Haha.. yep I sure have!
So im looking into buying an exhaust but im not sure as to what one. I want one that sounds like stock but a little bit louder.. im also trying to stay within my warranty, so does that mean i would have to buy my parts from mazda?
Mr mazda. How is nellis AFB? Im going to be SF there, is it a pretty chill laid back base? Oh I hate lackland! ,lol

The Corksport CBE sounds nice and the Racing Beat dualtip sounds good too. Racing Beat is a lil louder than stock and the Corksport a lil louder than that. A CBE (cat-back) shouldn't void your warranty. It all depends on your service tech at the Dealership. The one out here is the poop. Really good guy.
Nellis is alright. People are crazy out here! Weather is nice right now and gets gawd awfully hot during the summer. The BX is huge, shoppette is 24/7, Roads are bumpy and greasy. Fighters are loud and non-stop during exercises. Your car insurance will go up like 30-40% because people cant drive here. But overall, its a nice base and you will have fun here.(nothing like Lackland because its not an AETC base)

Welcome and I wish you luck with avoiding the mod bug. That said shifter bushings and an upgraded motor mount are a must. CBE seems to be a sound only mod, doesnt add much hp for the cost.

The downpipe will give you substantial gains but the cat-back wont. Downpipe will void your warranty and may cause your turbo seals to smoke. Hold off on the boost controller and drive the car on stock boost.

I am a Jet engine Mech working out of Test Cell. You can go to strip clubs...lol. 20 is such a hard age to be. Theres tons of car meets out here. Theres also In-n-Out burger too were the car guys meet up. We have a lil mazda goup that there are a few of us speed 3/6 guys and miatas/RX's. At Las Vegas Motor Speedway, there's the Dragstip right next to the base that also has a dyno tuner too. You can do anything and everything here including skydiving...lol

My stock BPV would peak at 16psi then would bleed off to 11psi or so, its supposed to hold 15.3psi I believe. Forge BPV peaks at 18psi and holds 14-15psi.

is the stock BPV fine or not?
anyone have the vibrant exhaust? i read about it on import tuner and it seems like a good exhaust. but i jsut wanted to see if people here have had personal experience with it. because im looking for a good exhaust system

It does the job, but the only real way to tell is to hook up a boost gauge. I like the Forge BPV

DP is also a big no no in California. Instant smog check fail. But it's a few years before you have to worry about it... anything can happen.

Cool...just to let you know, The forge off a CX-7 or Mazdaspeed 6 will work on our cars (same Part Number). I picked mine off of ebay from a CX-7 for $100 shipped. Its the .black one too so it looks like the OEM.

Research shows that is probably too stiff. No shims, or yellow with one or two shims is probably better.

I havent read anything in a while, about the time I got mine that seemed to be good. I'll take out the shims and see if it makes any difference. Thanks for the tip

oh snapp! thats pretty good.. i guess im going to order some soon. Im going to be ordering from multiple sites because some of the sites have the things I want but some of the stuff they I want is cheaper on other sites..
engine mounts
Forge BPV
Boost gauge
Cobb SRI
Yellow foglights
So far a pretty good start. My sisters BF is telling me to save for a RE Amemiya exhaust. its 1k and iono about that, but im still trying to find an exhaust system around 600 bucks or cheaper that will give me some POWAH! lol

don't get the RE-amemiya unless you want to hurt the bank. The Vibrant or GHL will do just as good.

yeah.. ive been stuck on my comp for about 12 hours here at my dorm..( i have a life just not here in tech school) i did alot of reading and what not. but as far as my sisters BF hes a knowledgeable guy he jsut suggested it because noone would have it lol.. Are the HKS exhaust systems good and give you some gains?
also about my previous post. would it work?
mr_mazda329
01-02-2009, 02:38 AM
Yeah, only a handful have that exhaust. but they are big ballers or somethin. Your not going to get much of any gains from any Cat-back. Sorry. The HKS is a nice setup. You really can't go wrong with any CBE.
