Major props to Peter at Soundwaves of Tampa, Inc. for sponsoring the install of all this. I had never heard Polk Audio so never really had any opinions on them. But after hearing them...holy ****! They sound phenomenal. I can't wait to get the Imprint tuned.

Finally got around to snappin some pics of my new system. There's too much glare/reflection on my sub enclosure so I'll try to get som pics when it gets a little darker. The 2din was a MAJOR PITMFA, but it came out beautifully. We relocated the A/C and Hazard Light controls to in front of the shifter so the 2DIN would fit better. I never put anything in the ash tray or used the lighter since I've bought the car so it was no biggie for me to ditch them. I love how the painted black dash/console came out looking. I was concerned at first but after seeing it I'm stoked. But the painter we used did a **** job so he'll be repainting the dash/console on his coin. I'll be taking it back in in a week or so to have that fixed, the cover for the sub box made slightly smaller (you can see the sides of the box roght now) and we'll tune the system with the Imprint system I had installed as well. The grand total came out to be A LOT. Even with the sponsorship. Woulda been at least twice as much as I paid tho.

All the door speakers were baffled. And we rigged up a little pulley wire so that we can lower the rear seats from inside the cabin (in case we ever need to get back there again since I won't ever be putting oversized objects in the trunk with the enclosure there lol). Also, my bass guitar fits in the trunk perfectly. I've got a tolerable amount of space in there still :) Pete's got more of the detailed/progress pics. He was taking them thruout the whole install. I'll try to get them from him when I meet back up with him in a week or so.

So the installed list:
6-1/2" Polk Mobile Monitor Coaxials in all doors (Components will be going in the front doors once they come in stock)
(2) 12" Polk Audio Mobile Monitor Dual Voice Coil subs in a custom enclosure
1 Polk Audio PA1100.5 5 Channel Amp powering the all the speakers
New Stinger Battery in the trunk (Rebadged Oddyssey PC680MJ Drycell)
Alpine IVA-W505 2DIN head unit
Alpine Imprint System
Sirius Satellite Radio
HD Radio
iPod hookup
Custom Dash Kit with relocated A/C & Hazard Light Controls
...I think that's it lol.

And now the pics:

Wow. That came out real well. I really like the AC and Hazard button location. Looks like it sounds bad ass. Congrats

I actually just finished my Double din. I didnt like the look of how the buttons stuck further OUT from where the ash try was before, so my contours IN. Also, I found a Hazard switch from an older mazda that replaced the blank button on the far driver side of the car and reloacted the circuit there. I'll post photos tomorrow, I'm too lazy to run out and take photos in the cold.

Here is mine. Forgot to take a photo of the Hazard installed, but I included a photo of the button before I put it in the car. You can see that I put a USB input where the Airbag light was. Sorry my camera sucks, lol.

I may paint the knobs for my climate controls black to offset the color a little more. I think it might look better, espically with the silver rings around the air vents.

Wow Jinx, that USB input is pretty slick. Same with the Hazard switch.

Looks awesome Rhoad (you too Jinx). That must sound GREAT. Did you use the stock tweet location for anything?

Sweet! How did you guys hack into the AC display to change what it reads?

I didnt, I used the Metra kit that they make. It allows you to change the display so its not just blank when you change the deck. I just modified the crap out of it and moved the circuit board to where the ashtray was.

I have component Pioneers up front and pioneer 6x8"s in the rears. It's nice when Pioneer gives you free speakers. And yes, it sounds WAY better than the stock. I have yet to finish my sub box/amp rack. I'm making a box that holds 1 Apline Type R that fits the sidewall of the trunk and displays the amps.

Bwahahaha! Damn you both for making me itch for my new system I've been building specs for even worse now!! ;)

Oh, and RhoadBlock: How are you liking the imprint system? My plans are to integrate the piece as a stand-alone unit. "Set it, and forget it."

izackary - the imprint hasnt been setup or tuned yet. I'm taking it back to the shop Wednesday to get that done as well as fix up a few things. I'll report back to ya once I get it back again ;)

jinx - i like your setup too bro. damn nice work ;) and I love the USB port!

Looking at these really makes me want to do mine.... I just cant make a choice.

And tell me more about the usb, we have never installed anything like that

More and more radios are coming with a USB input. Almost all Pioneers come with them now. Like the one I installed. So I just took advantage of it and made a mounting location for the USB cable extension I ran out of the old airbag light location. I didnt have to do anything MAJOR to get the USB connection. Just ran the cable, and created a mounting location. That was probably the easiest part of the whole thing.

Did you have to do anythign special to mount the door speakers? I love how they look.

Any of you guys have rattles after opening up the door panels and center dash? My car doesn't rattle one iota and I'm worried if I open up the door panels that it may go to hell. I have a system(components/amps/sub) just waiting for me to install, but haven't had anytime and I've been worried that it could cause me to have annoying rattles.

I wouldn't worry. If it happens to rattle, there's usually either an easy fix, or a simple way to stop it unless you have shoddy products.

Not gonna lie, door panels do a LITTLE. its the pocket in the door. I have to do some more sound dampening work. The dash, no, none.

Hmm. Mine don't if the pockets are empty, but I never have the bass cranked up either....never used to be above +3 and these days I leave it +/-1. Now if I have little bits of junk in there, that will rattle. But I do have Bose which may explain lower bass vibrations! :D

I also have component speakers... makes a big difference, espically with the aftermakert HU.
