Hello Everyone,

As the title states I recently sold my evo (you can see it here http://forums.evolutionm.net/sale-cars-sale/381113-evoangels-silver-mr-se-f-s.html) and picked up a brand new 2009 White MS3.

Let me first say that I LOVE this car!! I can't lie.... I was a little worried at first that I'd be very disappointed after owning my Evo, but the MS3 has surpassed my expectations and I am completely in love. So why did I sell my Evo?? I needed more SPACE. I have a couple dogs that did not fit well in the Evo. Also I rescue dogs at any given time and it was just a pain getting in and out of the Evo. It was also a pain in my @ss to clean!! The MS3 is not only versitile to meet all my space needs.... but it's SO easy to clean! I can't express how much I love this car =)

I look forward to becoming part of the community as I have with the Evo community. Thanks for reading :)

~Gennie

Welcome aboard! I went from a WRX to the MS3 and love the hatchback. I have hauled several things that would have never been possible in a sedan. Its also very fun to drive, so enjoy!

Edit: And while I've never been a fan of EVO's, I'll give props to you because yours looks pretty clean.

lol Some things are more important than cars.... like my dogs. The Evo was a great car and I loved it and I felt like I made a mistake everyday until the day I got my MS3. I have no regrets.... and I'm not a guy lol

P.s. There were 2 Evo's in my driveway.... and I sold one ;)

gotta get some springs. that takes away alot of the tq steer, gets rid of the floaty feel, front end lift on hard accel, aa good bit of wheel hop, and plants the car. giving it the stance it yerns for

oh and WELCOME. i have a G35 as well and the MS3 has made me want to upgrade the G to a better car b/c the MS3 is faster and better in every way except for the FWD.

i feel like my G is pointless to have now, i drive my MS3 much more and love it more. i didnt think that was going to happen

so now do you have to change your name to MS3angel? or speedangel?

welcome... i just bought one for my wife (and me, of course), and so far, i can't get behind the wheel enough. i wasn't prepared for how addictive this thing is to drive!

You won't be disappointed with the MS3 at all. The cabin will treat you much better than the evos ever did and it won't beat up on you or your dogs on rougher roads. The MS3 is a nice compromise between performance and everyday driver. If you want a little more performance out of it without losing your warranty snag the new Mazdaspeed CAI which gives you some really nice hp gains compared to other more expansive mods. The car is also reliable i have an '07 sport with 30K+ miles and I haven't had any problems at all except for a CEL or two which were all covered by warranty. Plus I average 25mpg on mixed driving which is nice on the wallet as well. Enjoy! I would've gotten white had they had it available in the US for '07. But oh well.

LOL Good call.... Maybe I will change it :) It's just a pain because everything is registered under the other name.... lol

Yeah I'm def not disappointed... The rawness of the Evo never bothered me... I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. The only factor that made me switch is the space.

Thanks for the warm welcome and all the great advice/input :)

damn man, are you being very light with the foot.

im averaging between 16-18. im not hard all the time. but i like to hear my intake, turbo and bov. so i hit it hard sometimes

but i just jut my best mpg with my driving style which was 130miles to a half a tank but normally its around 100miles per half a tank

Very interesting story...

Personally...even though the EVO tends to beat on it's drivers, I'd have a hard time letting go of such a rare and hard-to-find-in-good-condition car.

I got the same response from my buddies when I traded my GTO on a new MS3...it just didn't suit my purpose anymore as I needed a 4-door for my kid's car seat.

Sometimes you actually have to use a car for more than street racing...I know, it's a C-R-A-Z-Y concept but it is true at times.

Congrats from one new MS3 owner to another...

Don't be a drama queen. Not everyone wants only performance in a car. If we had the Evo wagon here, I would've got one instead, but some people like myself need a wagon/hatch. And for someone who works with dogs, this car makes much more sense than an Evo. Hell, I almost got a regular 3 hatch or a Fit.

Thanks. It wasn't easy letting it go.... i almost reconsidered MANY times... but as soon as I got the MS3 and saw my dogs get into it for the first time I knew I made the right decision.

I hate the Evo wagon beyond description.... BUT under these circumstances I would of gotten one too... HAHAHA :)

Indeed. I bought the MS3 because I'm hurtling towards 30 and have never owned/experienced a performance car outside of video games, plus my wife and I will most likely be having kids very soon. It just makes more sense to have the room and the practicality for ME.

If I were a weekend tracker and had millions, I'd own 20 Evos.

For most of us on the board, we have to consider the liveability and versatility of a car right along with performance. You really can't beat what you get with the MS3 :)

Which gen? I'm not feeling the X in either sedan or hatch, but I'd rock an Evo IX wagon (http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=107292#4).

Where in Maryland are you? Weather has been nice, should do a meet. And I'm a dog person, so bring your little ones.

Carpet as in the floor? Hair comes off SO easily off the seats I couldn't believe it!! I actually had to pull the hair out with tweezers in the Evo... LOL

Like I said I say to myself it's going to stay stock power wise..... but I'm being threatened to be disowned from my Evo friends if I don't mod it LOL Tint, HID's and Coilovers are first.... Anything after that will be impulse lol :)

i have a pitbull and i literally cover everything in my trunk and almost all of the back seat with seats when he's getting in.

but his hair is pretty hard to get out when it really gets in to the carpet. have to bust out the tweezers as well

yeah i have a husky and her hair is every where in my spec v, and i was debating between the evo 9 and the ms3, and the evo 9 would put me in the same situation as im in now other than being faster, so im definitely going ms3 now cause of similar reasons plus some more. gl with the car

that's a pretty clean interior. i should take a pic of my car now and do an after shot, but i would be pretty embarrass. i have like nose prints, paw prints, and my pup licked my rear view mirror too. there is hair every where, and i've found that a lint roller, electric blower, and tape does wonder on the hair.

evoangel429625

I Just got myself a MS3 2 days ago, I took a jump from a highly modded NSRT4 to Cobalt ss/sc to this, I got all the WTF posts too, good to see someone coming over here, thats a real nice car you had.
BTW, it looks like the folk at PTperformance may be onto what is causing the engines to blow so heavy modding may be possible without the same risks soon, I honestly cannot wait to see what you do with yours.

lol people need to understand that there is more to life than a fast car. Yes I loved my Evo and it was awesome but it just couldn't provide what I needed which is SPACE. If I wanted a FAST car I would of kept the Evo... the possibilities were endless with that car. I wanted a car that was functional and could carry my dogs around or be able to pick up dogs that need rescuing but still be fun to drive. I get everything I want with the MS3. And like I said before.... there are 2 Evo's in my driveway... and I sold one ;)
