Hello all.

New member checking in here. I'm going to pick up a White 2009 'speed3 GT within the next 1-2 weeks and just wanted to introduce myself.

My most recent car was a '09 MINI Cooper that I ordered back in September, waited 7 weeks for it to be built/delivered, drove it for 7 weeks, and then got into an accident that was not my fault, but totaled out my new car and left me with a broken sternum.

So, after a lot of looking and test drives, I've decided on the 'speed3. I also looked at used 'speed6's, a new Mitsu Evo, a used Subaru Legacy Spec B, and the MINI Cooper S and JCW.

The 'speed3 fits the best for what I want: something useable, roomy, comfortable, quick, good-handling, and tuneable.

Looking forward to learning all I can about this impressive car, and sharing info/getting to know new peeps.

Regards,

-Ben

Thanks for the welcome all!

As far as plans for the car, I'm an audio-aholic that spends his spare time writing and recording music, so a stereo upgrade will be coming.

From there, probably bigger sways, different shocks, possible H&R or Cobb springs. Power wise, not sure yet. It seems like the MS3 market is still kind of in it's infancy, so I'll probably wait it out awhile. (Although I did previously own a stage 2 wrx that had a bunch of Cobb goodies on it, so I'm a HUGE accessport fan.)

The car will be both autocrossed and taken to open track days a few times a year. Not really a straight-line (drag) racing type of guy.
