NEW PRICE!!!! IT IS AS LOW AS IT IS GOING TO GO.

NEW PRICE: $1375

This is the final SHIPPED price in the continental U.S.

Also, i will be throwing in a Stewart Warner mechanical oil pressure gauge for FREE. It is very lightly used. The gauge is in perfect condition. Maximum performance series, 0-100 psi, 2 1/16th inch, silver face, silver bezel. Matches the stock gauges extremely well. Comes with a red and green cover for the light bulb. Does not include the oil line and fitting (you can buy this from the auto parts store).

This is a for sale thread for a Hiboost intercooler kit w/ an auxiliary fuel injection setup and a piggyback engine management setup.

You are not just buying a random intercooler kit and engine management. These two setups work together to maximize the performance of your mazdaspeed protégé. I have spent a great deal of money and time perfecting this setup.

This is what you are buying:

Hiboost intercooler kit with an auxiliary fuel rail:

-Hiboost intercooler kit
-MPI auxiliary fuel rail welded to the cold pipe (2- 42 lb/hr cobra injectors included)
-Authentic Greddy type RS blow off valve w/ gasket and mounting screws
-Nipple welded on the hot pipe for running the dual bov/bpv setup (you can plug it if you do not want to run the dual setup)
-Bypass valve not included (just use stock bypass valve)

Piggyback engine management setup (The Preferred MPI Setup):

-MPI Tuner (smt-6 unit) w/ heat sink
-Flyin’ Miata o2 clamp
-JoeP Fuel cut defenser
-GM 3 bar map sensor
-Turbo module (keeps the coils from overheating)
-Project box

The project box allows for the absolute cleanest way to install the additional components. The o2 clamp, fuel cut defenser, and map sensor are all mounted inside the project box. Holes have been drilled for the wires, vacuum line, and access to adjustment screws. The project box fits nicely under the MSP passenger seat. Further information about the project box, complete install directions, and a detailed outline for this form of tuning is in my tuning thread:

http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123720195

The intercooler kit works in conjunction with the “Preferred MPI Setup.” Read through the thread I linked above and it will explain everything.

More description:

The intercooler kit has 40 k miles on it. The pipes are not new but they are in good shape. There are a few spots on the hot piping where the plating is coming off. Not a big deal at all, but you can spray them with silver paint and they will look good as new. The couplers are still in great condition. The core is in good condition as well. I have a nipple welded on to the hot pipe to run the dual setup (bpv/bov). Your stock bpv will work just fine (a bpv is not included) or you can plug it off.

The only problem I had when I received the kit was the same problem tons of other customers had, one coupler was a few inches short. I fixed this problem by using a longer coupler (which is included).

The auxiliary fuel rail has served me well and has been leak free. The rail holds two 42 lb/hr cobra injectors (“blue giants”) that have a wide cone spray pattern, which is great for pre-throttle body setups.

The piggyback system is a great way to retain stock drivability (fuel economy, cold start-ups, emissions testing) and tune for boost. Again, read through the link posted above and you will learn all about it!

This is what I spent on all of these components:

-Hiboost intercooler kit with Greddy type RS BOV - $1090
-MPI auxiliary fuel rail with injectors - $350
-Nipple for recirculation - $70
-Welding fuel rail onto the cold pipe - $100

-MPI Tuner (smt-6 unit) with turbo module - $700
-Flyin’ Miata o2 clamp - $134.99
-JoeP Fuel cut defenser - $79.99
-GM 3 bar map sensor - $82.99
-Map sensor connector plug - $8.99
-Project box - $7

TOTAL: $2623.96

Remember, the piggyback setup is in mint condition and the intercooler kit is also in good condition (perfect working order and good cosmetically). The complete install directions will be included or can be found (as previously mentioned) in the link above. I will label every single wire from the project box and the MPI unit to allow for an easier install.

Don't forget that shipping is included in the price. The intercooler kit is in a large box and weighs 35 pounds.

Note- I AM WILLING TO TAKE PAYMENTS IN ANY AMOUNT YOU WANT. The package will not ship until I have received the full amount. PM me and we will discuss the payment plan. I do not want to wait a lifetime, but I am open to a few months. Also, there will be no refunds at any time if you decide you do not want the item anymore. I do not want to turn down potential buyers waiting on you, then get screwed.

If you have any questions, send me a PM and I will help you out as soon as possible. Moderator- the intercooler kit has an older date because I have had it in an older for sale thread and I have it all boxed up and ready for shipping.

how much are you asking for the setup?

how much are you asking for the setup?

I spent $2531.98 on this setup.

Also, the directions for installing the piggyback are spot on. I spent a great deal of time writing the installation directions and referencing all of the correct wires from the MPI unit, TM, ECU, o2 clamp, FCD, and map sensor. I have labeled all of the wires on the components as well to make the installation that much easier. The project box makes the installation even easier and cleaner.

I'm obviously not selling this for $2531, but I just want everyone to know the amount of money, time, effort, and precision that has gone into this kit. My time and effort will be the "new" owners gain.

so, do you have a price that you're asking? You can't really expect the buyer to pay the same price you paid. Usually there's about a 20% loss in used parts.

I completely agree. I cant expect anywhere near 2500 dollars. Sorry if it seemed like i was implying that. I will put a price in the first post. I will take a 25% loss (well, it will be even more since shipping will be included in the price).

So, what are the gains from all this? What makes all this better than a standard FMIC setup?

I'm not all that familiar with this whole fuel injected IC setup you have going on, so I figure other people might have similar questions. I'm not at all interested in buying, but maybe the extra info will help draw potential buyers for you.

his set up with a stock non turbo protege ecu is the best way to run the mpi from what i understand. the injectors on the ic piping just adds the extra fuel when you need it

im not just selling a fmic kit... i am selling a piggyback engine management system that works in conjuntion with the intercooler kit.

definitely read through the link i posted:

http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123720195

that will do a much better job of thoroughly explaining this piggyback setup. to utilize this method of tuning, you need auxiliary injectors. the auxiliary injectors are already welded onto the intercooler piping. so... the intercooler kit and piggyback system go hand in hand.

this form of tuning is extremely simple and effective. all you do is add fuel with the extra injectors and pull timing when you enter boost. Kooldino (speedcircuit) has been supporting this method of tuning with auxiliary injectors for quite some time now. Even 505zoom ran a similar setup when he put down 275 whp on the stock block.

if you are interested in this system, i would highly recommend reading through the thread i linked above. it explains every detail of this form of tuning.

any other questions, just let me know.

the engine management photos are up to date, but could you update the intercooler/fuel rail pics with signage and today's date? (just snap one additional pic w/current info to supplement what you have?)

Gotcha. This is pretty much THE solution if you want a lot of power on a N/A ECU right?

I just wanted to know what set this apart from the crowd.. I realized it wasn't just a $1900 FMIC, but I never saw this kind of setup before so I felt the need to ask.

Good luck with your sale man, it sounds like you have this setup down to a science :)

is there anyway the older picture will work? you dont know how well i have this thing wrapped up, boxed, and taped. i have never had one issue with selling things on this forum. if not i will tear it apart. let me know please.

this setup works just fine on the msp ecu. 505zoom ran a similar setup on the msp ecu and made 275 whp.

with this setup, you allow the stock ecu to control everything out of boost. so, the cars daily driveability outside of boost is stock. this means that you have zero issues with cold startup, you can pass emissions, your idle is unaffected, your cruise is normal, etc. Right before you enter boost the o2 clamps (this is user adjustable). I know with the split second units they also utilize an o2 clamp. Then with this setup you add more fuel with the additional injectors. You can also advance or retard the timing however you see fit.

With this setup you can have 2 maps and can mount a switch in the car. You can also tune on the fly, unlock the split second controller.

good set-up but seems a bit high in price if you compare whats on the market right now for new.. gl with your sale.

i feel it is a good deal considering the amount of work and money that has gone into this setup. I have also spent alot of time "cleaning" the install up by utilizing the project box. Then the kicker is the installation directions and labeling. You will not find installation instructions this detail for this setup.

if you break down the price, the intercooler box is 30x30x10 and 34 pounds. That will cost about $35 to ship, the piggyback will be in a separate box and shipped for about $15, then if you want to get picky paypal fees will take about 50 bucks. So my final price includes this 100 dollars.
