Corksport's website claims 19hp with their catback exhaust. I have heard that catbacks dont do much for this car. Is this HP only consistant with corksport?

no it's correct, the hp does go up obviously when you free up the flow, now HP means nothing really, you want to get torque gain, and with the corksport it's at 5ft/lbs. You will get gains for every brand of CBE, but mainly if you free up the downpipe, unfortunately if you want things to not give you trouble down the road I say stick with catback and that's it.
I still have my CorkSport CBE For Sale if your interested.

I disagree. no your not going to see a 19 h/p increase from a catback, even on a stock car. and yes h/p is a factor in getting your car to move faster

i just put my corksport in, hmmmm my butt dyno says maybee little to none hp. But my ear dyno, off the charts, the corksport sounds sweet.

19hp out of a CBE sounds far fetched to me, maybe they boosted the car to 30 lbs and then put on the exhaust for the results?

If they doubled the boost plus a cat back exhuast and only got 19hp then somthing must be wrong. haha

Well, not 19hp from the boost, excluding the gains made from the boost.

What good is hp really? Torque is what gets things moving, hp is how u get there, one reason u want a balance between the two variables.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Torque gets you moving until certain rpm then horsepower takes over after that until power dies off or redline.

Still not entirely correct. Horsepower IS torque. All it means when you have a torquey car is that you have more horsepower down low than you would say if you were driving a honda. Horsepower doesn't "take over", it's always there.

True. I'm no expert. That's what I know.

My guess is thats their total gains when paired with their DP, cant see how it could be CBE alone with no other mods.

There was no downpipe on the car, just the exhaust.

The peak numbers look a little weird. The average gain in torque was 10 at the wheels.

cbe?
19hp?
yeah, ok

it is nice to see the torque and horsepower curves meet where they are supposed to Derrick which means to me you guys are not fibbing. I am also biased though. I love my exhaust. Does seem like alot compared to most catbacks. But facts are facts.

Yup, right around 5200 RPM like most cars.

I was just viewing the dyno section and there was a lot of skewed or odd graphs. sorry i just carried my thoughts over to this bit. 5250. You are right, its one those laws of engines or somef'nthing

Yeah, it's how torque is calculated:

The fact that the torque and hp curves meet at 5252 doesnt mean jack shit and doesn't give the manufacturer's claim any credibility. EVERY single dyno will have the HP and torque curves meet at exactly that RPM. It has nothing to do with the car itself, it's just how HP is calculated.
