I have an injen intake myself and have never run into problems due to temperature, but it hardly never gets under 15 Fahrenheit here. (Average winter temperature here is around 35)

Just some ideas to start: I would make sure that the MAF wasn't damaged under the install of the intake and check the WGA. If the WGA is bad it might cause a overboost and and then a boost cut might be triggered around 4k RPM

do you have a boost gauge?do you have a leak anywhere? like he said your wga might be fucked cuz your not suppose te get cut off of an intake, oh and yes we are pretty damn dumb when it comes to living here

Would the MAF work installed backwards?

probly doesn't matter if you don't have a bov.
