im really liking the new audi's LED running lights accross the headlight housing, and i've been thinking about it for a while and was wondering how it would look around the fogs. i think that would be the easiest place to put them, seeing how there's a plain unpainted plastic piece around the fogs.
im not a total cosmetic goru, but im pretty good with electrical work. if there are some LED savvy ppl on here that know exactly what type of diode they would have to be it would help, cuz i know radio shack doesn't have any near bright enough.
i was thinking this

or this

if i dont' get a chance to do the real thing first, i'd love to see someone else do it and post up

Check out Ledtronics (http://ledtronics.com/)as a source for the LEDs. They have a wide range of different packaging, all the way to bare LEDs. One thing to think about is the brightness - if you want the visible in the daytime, you probably need to make them dim down when the parking lights are on for night use.

meh....personally....I like the eyelid style I've seen some with. I could live with that style.

Well I know the new Acura MDX has the daytime lights in the fog housing. I'd be interested to see the results if someone did this. It has the potential to look pretty cool IMO.

good point...the audi i pass every morning has them on and their brightness is comparable to regular xenons, but i don't know how they work at night, or if they're on at all. i guess some kind of dimmer switch would work best for that, like the one for our instrument cluster
or maybe i could use them along with the headlights, and just keep the foglights off seeing how they do NOTHING anyway

make them smaller than your paintshop look. they look like disco outline lights from the 80's

It looks like you have candy buttons on your MS3.

I think it would look sick. Despite the new A4 being underpowered and rather plain looking, the LED's around the headlights look hot. I say go for it.

i was thinking about the SAME thing as well, around the fog lights.
on the OTHER forum they sell an LED eyelid kit for $36 shipped, but it looks very rice and goes in the gap at the top of the headlights and the hood.
here is the youtube link since i cant post pics from the other lame ass forum
