08 SPEED3 Foglight Bulbs? (Help?)

Hey everyone,

Im looking to change out my stock foglight bulbs in my 08 speed 3 hatch. I want to do yellow bulbs and was wondering what brand bulbs you guys recommend. I dont want anything that will overheat my stock wiring. Any info and pics would be greatly appreciated!

I have the luminics JDM bulbs in yellow for the fogs. I also have the smoked overlays so they end up being a little gold color.

stock bulbs are 51W, how are you using 55W bulbs with only 51W power?

I may just do what I did with my RX8... I put yellow lens film on the fogs (as seen in my sig) from http://www.decalfx.com/yellow_headlight_film.html but I dont know how well it would look on a red car. (thought)

do u have the type A or type B foglights? One uses 55W and one uses 51W. Mine uses 51W (shrug)

UHATEIT, you have the same style fogs as me and the stock wattage is 51W. I was told NOT to use 55W bulbs in there. Are you? Or did you find some 51W?

Interesting. The bulb draws 55 watts, so it seems the wires would overheat or the bulb would blow out. I'll check ebay and see whats up

Is the HB4 the manual calls for, the same as a 9006?

Yup, it's the same bulbs. I've got a pair of Polarg bulbs (brand new) for sale if you're interested, lemme know.

I've sent you a link with info that you'll find handy. Well since you already know they're not cheap, I'd say ebay is a better bargain :(

4 watts over should not "burn" your wires... (in my own experience/opinion)

I've got Lamin-X on mine right now and have a set of DDM Yellow bulbs coming. My car should have a really yellow look now :) They've gotten good reviews on the other forum and they have a lifetime warranty on them. About $32 shipped. If interested, I can PM you the Web site.

i have only had mine for a few weeks but so far I have had no problems. The 51w to 55w difference really wont make that much of a difference. Your wires will be fine.

i am using the 55W ones ad the guy below here is using off ebay. I have had them on the car for almost a year. My bulbs are fine and have not blown out. As for my harnesses, i have only removed the bumper once and didnt pay too much attention to what the harnesses looked like after 10 months, but if they were melting i probably would have seen it. As far as i can tell they are working fine.

i don't think the extra 4W will make too much of a difference. People swap bulbs like this all the time. But I understand you want to be safe about it
