So we here in Beaverton,OR got a good amount of snow today so i took a pic of the car and a good hit to my son with a snowball. Also got to test out how good the car runs in the snow and tell you i'm very pleased on the performance on going up hwy 26 out by us it's a steep hill and got around most of the (screwy) people that don't know how to drive in the snow, then i got to play(wrc) in the parking lot next to our apt. anyway here are the pics take more when i can.

Do you have snow tires or all-seasons on? I have a question about your ABS - does it almost feel like a metallic grinding when you step on the pedal and start to slide? I've kinda written that off as "how it is" but I've never had a car with ABS before.

This is why I live in Texas. I vow to never live somewhere where I have to dig out my car to go to work.

My colleagues disagree. They sent me this earlier in the year :D:

Friday's new problems developed after a capricious snowstorm Thursday that arrived sooner than anyone expected – and disappeared just as quickly – dumped up to 9 inches of snow in some corners of North Texas, hitting Cooke and Denton counties the hardest.
Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington were largely spared. But before the storm spun off to the east, it forced airlines to cancel hundreds of departures from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport; shut down schools, businesses and government buildings; and caused nightmarish conditions on some area highways, particularly in Denton County.

I have all season on but I also got them siped from Les Schwab and I would say yes when I step on the pedal it kinda feels that way

Oh man.....wish I bought my camera today. When I went home this afternoon, my GS was totally covered and I had to scrape at least a foot of snow off the roof. From a far, it looked like I had a Ford Van parked in my spot.

I live east of Houston near the bay. These were taken early in the evening. By 10 pm the street was beginning to get covered.

Changed the thread title a little to make it more suitable.
I found this yesterday and thought it was worth posting (or reposting). Is that the saddest day for a Mazda5 on snow so far or what? :)

Yeah, Texas is just the best place in the World to live. Just ask any Texan.
I especially love the weeks of triple digit (F) killer heat in the summer.

Ever notice how many cars in Texas have cracked windshields from the difference in temperature between the outside and inside, or the hail damage?
I'll scrape my windshield a few times a winter, Thank You (poke)

Late to the thread, but oh well..the 5 is pretty useless in snow/ice, so we just parked it for the week that we had snow here:

We did end up with an amusing "antenna skeleton" as the snow melted off the roof of the 5:

I never thought of leaving the wipers off the window.....
You people have garages. How come the cars aren't inside? I haven't scraped a window in years due to my garage. Even frosty days are just a get in and drive event. ;)

Yeah, I do have a garage, it's a detached garage built in 1910, when the house was built. It's more built for a 134" x 66" Model T, than a 181"x69" Mazda5 with modern swing out doors.

Because my good cars are in the garage, and it doesn't snow here often enough for it to be an issue.
