im confused to this? i went to my dealer today cause i had a nail in my tire. i talked to the parts manager cause i asked about their CAI...he told me they no longer make OR sell their intake. said they had to many problems. which confuses me...didnt they JUST come out with a new revised intake for 07-09 speeds? he told me that if i wanted a CAI it wouldnt be an issue with my warranty which i was pretty happy to hear (cool) they even said that the BPV might not be an issue. but, im not gonna take it in with my hks on tho...rather not bother or chance it. but did anyone else get this?

My dealership here is all go with any mod on the car, except if you change the down pipe and eliminate the cat then your screwed. Thats quoted exactly from the service manager who races miatas.

Which dealership is that?
I'm assuming Browns Fairfax.

i heard that since mazda only specified the CAI for the 09 MS3 that alot of dealers wont sell them. Also alot of dealers dont even know the new one exists.

you dont have to prove what kind of car you have to buy a cai from mazda. if you ask they will sell it. assuming they even know its available

I understand you dont have to prove what kind of car you have, but there are some pretty weird parts guys out there that get all VIN happy when you ask for a part.

i went ahead and said f**** the dealer. $400+ for an intake is nuts. i ordered the injen cai. they said that there wouldnt be any problem any intake i get. (headbang)

My CAI works great, 20k miles on it and no problems. Sucks they aren't selling them at this time. If I had to get another intake I think I would go with a short ram intake. Alot easier to clean and maintain

been running my Mazda CAI for almost a year now....no CEL's. Plus the discount from the dealership brought it right in line with most. But it is an AEM, so go that route.

if you are worried about warranty, buy any of the many short rams on the market and pop your stock box back on when the time for a trip to mazda comes up.

But it is an AEM, so go that route.I have had mine for 34000. dealer installed and no issue till more mods started throwing cels. Those have been dealt with and she is fine now. but I will purchase the air straightener from Aaron at JSC for peace of mind. For fifteen bucks, what the heck.
