Hi guys/gals, looking for help. I've recently been noticing that my MS6 does not seem as fast as when I first got it and even the mazda mechanic I took it to for the last oil change mentioned that it did not seem as fast. I have a cold air intake and thought it might be a dirty filter, so I have cleaned it with no luck. Searching through posts here, I came the the realization that I have not heard the blow off valve in a while. I typically drive rather normally and don't push it often, although I have tried some hard accelerations and I did not hear the BOV. I used to hear it all the time.
Should I hear the bov in normal driving/fast but not hard acceleration? What are some things I should look for to diagnose? The car boosts and when I push it, I see it hold about 15psi (dashhawk) when accelerating hard in 3rd.

edit - Given I have a dashhawk, anything in particular I should be recording in a diagnostic mode to try and troubleshoot?

Thanks for the help

Common reasons for insufficient power or low boost pressure are;

• Dirty air filter system
• Suction and pressure line distorted or leaking
• Excessive flow resistance in exhaust system/leakage upstream of turbine
• Fuel system/injection feed system defective or incorrectly adjusted
• Valve guide, piston rings, engine or cylinder liners worn/increased blow-by
• Dirty compressor or charge air cooler
• Boost pressure control valve does not close
• Pipe to boost pressure control valve defective
• Turbocharger bearing damage
• Foreign body damage on compressor or turbine
• Engine intake manifold cracked/missing or loose gaskets
• Turbine housing/boost pressure control valve damaged
• Insufficient oil supply to turbocharger

I guess you can use a process of elimination or maybe your dash hawk can help you out.

Do you run DashHawk quarter miles. Maybe your jsut getting used to the speed.

I run QM runs on the same stretch every so often to make sure my car is still running the same.
