View Full Version : system too lean check engine HELP!

ive been showing system too lean code for awhile the light goes on and off on and then i went to the dealer and they replaced the(MAF) but it didnt work

from what i can tell the light only goes on and off when idling or stoped

when idling the revs dip and then come back

please help what can this be?

EGR? O2?

vaccum leak,boost leak,its something post maf thats causing you to throw that code also check your egr.

my mechanic says its the egr and i have the part under warrenty but the dealer says the egr is fine. i told them to replace it but they wont they are trying to rape me http://www.mazdas247.com/members/Kooldino/smilies/idhitit.gif

Have you tried cleaning the EGR?

you could of fixed it for 70 bucks and a couple hours....

Hate to say it but you could have easily avoided 99% of that if you just looked around here a bit. A wastegate actuator for $900? Man, you really got ripped...

dont feel that bad man, my friend brought his ford explorer in to get it check out and they charged him $800 of driving around his car with a scan tool to tell him it was ok. lol

Sucks, but never simply replace a part because of a cel!
$1500 bucks buys a lot of nice MSP mods.

Just to clarify there are a few reasons why a cel can be triggered besides the part itself referenced by the code. Eliminate those before replacing the part.

i get the same code, i am told that it is the o2 sensor on the manifold. dealer told me tht and a couple other people on the forum sayed they think it might be the o2

IMO that code for me was a dirty EGR, i cleaned and all was good.

But then cupple mounth later i had to get my car inspected, the WGA was leaking so they charged me 600$, 160$ of that is a stock replacement Wastegate....... remind me never to give them my mom's cellphone cause i was at work when they would call, cause i would of got a Forge WGA lol
