Just finished installing the Cobb SRI for the MS6 (finally). I am extremely impressed. It is crazy loud though. Low rpm boost sounds like a wind tunnel under my hood. It goes away once I go WOT. Is this normal for it to create such a loud sucking sound? I also updated to the Stage1+ on the AP. Its a night and day difference. No fuel cut problems whatsoever. Thank you COBB!!!!
interested to see what this setup looks like...

installed and test drove mine yesterday. It's fun.
I am excited to see what this car is like with the AP Stage 1 93 Octane tune. Maybe some time next year I will pick that up.

its looks just like the ms3 cobb intake only with a slightly larger filter.
cobb needs to update their site more regularly...
dont see any new tunes nor this new sri...

Oh its effin loud. Almost too loud. Not when your wide open. But when your just into it a bout a quarter throttle and hitting like 1-5 psi. WHOOOOOOOSSSSSHHHH. Its insane. I couldnt believe it when I first drove it. I had to pull over and make sure everything was hooked up properly. Go with the Cobb Ap. Best money I have ever spent besides the Forge BPV.

If I were to get an SRI, would I have to tune my car like you all do with the AP? I mean, is it absolutely necessary?

no it isn't necessary.

Just installed mine. Speaking of loud, it is darn loud....
Too early to say for me cause the weather is bad...so i'm taking it easy, but yeah, sounds like there's a wind tunnel under the hood.
I double checked everything after i came home, and checked my Forge BPV too...whooo

Yes it is quite loud, but quite rad.
I cannot complain.
not diggin the blue... there has to be more options from these aftermarket folks on colors...
im not interested in a technicolored engine bay... just my opinion of course..

yea... I wasnt crazy either about the blue. But we waited a long time for the release of this from cobb. So... Beggers cant be choosers.

I talked to SU back in August. This is what their email said:
"We are currently sourcing Red and black air filters. We will have them up on the site as soon as we find a supplier. Trust me we wont put a blue filter on a red silicone piece. "

I ordered the black Cobb SRI from street unit and the filter is blue, so I'm a little dissapointed but oh well, hopefully that answers any questions. If anyone does order a black one and gets a black filter let me know because I'm not a huge fan of the blue.

Are you not happy with the Nano anymore? I was sort of waiting till they came out with the proper version for the 6, because I thought it looked a little nicer than the Cobb. 2nd choice was the SU Edition Cobb in black.

Im happy with it. I just ordered the AP and didnt know how well it would work as far as the SF maps. It should be here toaday and I will see how well it works with the Stage 1+ 93 map.

hehe. nice. Im installing all the software right now.
One question though. I installed the AP manager and clicked on the AP icon to the side and its not showing any maps? Do I have to go into the file on the CD that came with it and transfer it to the AP?
I also downloaded the stage1 +SF 93 from your site. About to transfer that as well.
You have to bring the maps into the AP Manager on your computer first, then hook up the AP to the computer and copy those files from the computer to the AP ... and then of course from the AP to your car.

Anybody go from CP-e CAI to Cobb SRI? Quieter?

Ok I got it. Just replaced the boost tube clamps with t-bolts. The turbo inlet one wasnt even tight. Also the one going to the TB wasnt pushed all the way on. The one going to the intercooler inlet had a slight leak because I could see oil passing up the side. Hopefully this took care of my boost leak. Changing the oil now then im installing the AP :)

wtf. Even after replacing the clamps. Reset the ecu. Took the 45 angle off the intake. Changed the forge spring to a stiffer one. I am still only spiking 12 psi and taper down to 10-11. Not sure if I want to install the AP if I cant even hit 15.6

I just installed my Cobb SRI and I don't find it loud at all, it's very quiet in low rpm and gets louder as I get on the throttle . I also thought I was going to be able to hear the stock bpv more than I could, it was also fairly quiet, hopefully that will change when my Forge bpv gets here next week. Overall it's a very nice piece and install wasn't bad at all except the mounting bracket holes didn't line up with the holes on the MAF housing very well so I had to drill a new hole but no big deal, this was my first time modding a car's engine and had no problems with the install.

Not to "HiJack" but more add a twist to the discussion: I had pretty much decided on the COBB SRI (finally on their site), but now I see that PG has a unit out as well. If it were up to you, which would you pick - why? The price difference is minimal (at least in my opinion) so I'd rather pick the better unit. My concern is that I want to direct swap the MAF and not generate CELs. Thoughts, opinions? I'd really like to hear thoughts from any of your MS6ers that have either installed.

I had the same problem with my speed6 when installing a CAI.
Check the gasket between the maf sensor and the maf housing.
I wound up tearing mine which caused the same issues.
After i replaced i started seeing 16psi.
Hope that helps.

I did a pressure test and the only leak was after the MAF where the 45 is clamped to the housing. Tightened it and no boost leak at all. Still wasnt hitting 15.6 though. I relashed with cobb anyways and I was hitting the targeted psi. Wasnt spiking high either. Does the car limit boost in lower temps?

i just ordered my cobb sri and cant wait to install it, not sure if theres a boost limit at lower temps on these cars, but you said your hitting your boost right at 15.6 when you reflashed the cobb. how much higher are you spiking?

Not spiking bad at all with cobb. Might hit 17 or so and hold 15 on stage 1+. Stage 3 + I would spike somewhere around 19 and hold 18.1

I just had my first code the other day... something about exhaust temp or something... I just used the AP and got rid of it. Hasnt come back yet. I usually see a spike of about 22.5 to 23, then tapers to around 17. I am running a cold weather map so that will drop once I go back to the regular once it warms up here in MN.

Wow, you spike pretty high. I don't usually spike over 17/18.
