Intercooler Cover Removal?

I was just wondering if it would harm the car in any way to remove the cover over the inter cooler and leave it off? Kinda digging the way it looks without it. Anyone ever tried this? I know the upgraded tmic doesn't utilize it so does the stock one really need to?

just keeps a seal around the IC so it gets all the incoming air.

yes it directs the air through the fins

it wont make a ton of difference either way, but yeah, i'd leave it on.
