i am lowering the battery thats all my bad
That IC kit is on my list of thing to get for my car. :D
Good to see real pictures.
BTW, did you installed that on that parking lot?
LV Tunerz
11-30-2008, 08:24 PM
yes i installed that on a uhaul trailer lol once i got out from vegas LOL in 30* temps ahaha but yeah i did everything right there in the parking lot LOL .... So im taking it you all like it ????

ya if you want my advice i would get rid of the air box that comes with it and chop it down to a SRI but thats just my 2cents... it is what i did and i loved it you just have to play with different filter i ended up with a shorty blitz. expensive but flows some crazy air!

I've wondered if you could do the same thing. I wonder if you can do it one step simpler and just flip the housing and bend around.

ya just cut the MAF housing down and keep it straight it just fits.
LV Tunerz
11-30-2008, 08:53 PM
ya you probly could i dont see why not , im going for a dyno soon and ill go to a SRI and then and see the difference

see though i also have a bigger turbo then stock , so i dont know if the SRI would be better for my turbo or vise versa ya know, i see the two clear tube, i see where the top one is going but what about the other one ?

dude thats soo hot!!!! thats been on my list when i bought my car 5 mouths ago!!!! mad props!! ps what would bee the problem with taking the crust bar thing off, besides if u get in a crash lol???
LV Tunerz
11-30-2008, 11:58 PM
nothing at all , but my insurance company wont insure me if i dont have that LOL . Other then that the IC mount is bolted to the main crash bar look really carefully in the 4th and 5th pic . BTW im looking for new ways to have the whole IC shown .

im just going to cut it, so basically it turns a 5mph bumper into a 2.5mph bumper.
06turbospeed
12-01-2008, 12:21 AM
lol yea really one problem i see from the pics is, the top bracket of the intercooler is suported by that crush bar ummmm.. you would have to fab one up! but nothing i couldent handle. but cork sport is the best fmic hands down!!
06turbospeed
12-01-2008, 12:23 AM
lol yea u have some good points !! maybe notch the crush bar??
LV Tunerz
12-01-2008, 12:37 AM

12-01-2008, 12:48 AM
Not bad! That's an insane amount of tubing though! How much power gain do you see from that? What about turbo lag?
06turbospeed
12-01-2008, 12:49 AM
hahaha word i would say the same shit! well get back to me and again Mad probs!!!!!! o and have u seen any hp gains without a tune?
LV Tunerz
12-01-2008, 12:49 AM
Yes there is a little turbo lag but holy hell is it nice , im running a GT3076R with this FMIC and wow ill give up the 300-500rpms for the power i get , dyno will be getting done here in the next week or two
LV Tunerz
12-01-2008, 12:50 AM
yes without a tune i have seen massive gains but then again i also have a bigger turbo , i would say i gained right around 30-40 HP with ease
06turbospeed
12-01-2008, 01:20 AM
nice what was ur last 1/4 mile time with the turbo
LV Tunerz
12-01-2008, 01:23 AM
i dont know any times and or dead on horse powers yet , im very sorry . Dyno like i said will be in about a week or two and i dont know about the 1/4 mi ill try it out when there is no snow lol , with a DH

vegas, bigger the turbo you have the more reason you have to go SRI. you have to understand the path or air, it goes intake - turbo (HOTTT) - then intercooler. thats what cools the air not so much the intake but the intercooler.

Did you use the CORKSPORT 2.25" supplied turbo inlet pipe or did you fabricate a 3"?

i had to fab my own 3 1/2 inlet piping . Also i will then be going SRI haha sorry my brain was not working when i made that comment

Why SRI?
The air box over the engine using the factory cover and air ducts is the reason why I like this FMIC set-up.

haha booster you just need to fab up that inlet. i sent you that kit back in like may or june wasn't it?
LV Tunerz

yeah i fabed my own inlet , lol it was hella easy , use your imagination and it will come !!!!

even though the box is a pretty cool setup, it is still pretty restrictive. remember a cone filter will always flow more than a panel filter.

any data to back this up... that panel filter uses the air ducting from the old ic..
outside cooler air as opposed to warmer air from the engine bay..
only thing im not fond of the corksport setup is the heatsoak from the motor..

yeah i would like to see proof , not saying i dont believe you but i would just love to see what the difference is

A good intercooler setup would negate any warmer engine bay air. CAI or SRI don't really matter to much on a good intercooler setup.

I have to, but I don't have the time now a days, and been a little lazy!
Any way I am waiting for the 3" TIP that speedy is introducing PRONTO!

I know, I was saying SRI or CAI intake doesn't matter, with a good intercooler setup either intake will good. Heat from the engine heating up the intake shouldn't matter since the when moving the intake is getting fresh, colder air from the ducts in the hood, plus if the intercooler is working properly it will cool the air down.

so this does come with a replacement for the stock turbo inlet pipe?

yes this kit does

A 2.25 inch TIP that is. Excellent for the KO4 snail, but not for any ATP turbo.

This statement is FALSE.
To figure out which will flow more there are 2 factors. 1) filter media flow 2) FILTER AREA.
Cone often have more are due to their shape, but this Corksport filter seems pretty large.
I don't know the sizes but you'd have to measure and calculate to see which will flow better.(assuming the filter media flows the same)
Also the guy who said A good IC will make up for sucking hotter air is WRONG.
The temp rise from the intake through the turbo is EXPONENTIAL, it is not linear.
So you want a cooler everything, the IC will NOT make up for sucking hot air.
