Ford-Mazda & ??

I purchased my CV7 from the local Ford-Mazda dealer. Seems to have a good service dept with a Mazda Master Mechanic who knows his stuff. Now that Ford is divesting itself of Mazda, I'm wondering about warranty work and parts. I am a DIYer but, may still need warranty work. Closest Mazda dealer is maybe 30 miles away. I wonder how long Ford will be doing Mazda service?

they are not completly divesting themselves of their shares, just a portion of it to raise short term capital. even if they completely divested themselves, that does not affect dealers in the way that you are thinking. manufacturers do not own dealerships, they are franchises. mazda has a seperate franchise and dealer arrangement from ford. this is why you see multi-line dealers with chyslers, toyotas, hondas, mazdas, etc etc etc. corporate parentage has zero effect on what marques franchises choose to carry.
