Looking for AWD info

From what i can tell 99-03 protege (familia) got the AWD option. im just looking to confirm this information and possible find some pictures of the setup.

Im going to be picking up a 1999 1.8l as a seccond car (first is an 02 p5) and ive been missing my awd since my 1991 tsi awd.

Any info would be a great help. As of right now i know i need:
JDM awd tranny/transfer case
Drive shaft
Rear diff/axels
Rear subframe and hubs (if required, my o2 p5 has the holes for axels in the hubs already, not sure on a 99)
and gas tank

Why dont you buy a whole Familia from Japan... I saw them 'round 5k$ in almost mint condition, of course fully loaded with AWD.

There are laws against importing cars that new where i live. Other wise i would have ordered an AWD p5 Diesel a while ago lol

Here, we cannot import cars which were manufanctured before 2000/2001 (Euro3 emission standard), next step are oldtimers and they have to be 25+ years old.

On AstinaGT forum there is a dude who imports Mazda parts from Japan but from Yahoo auctions (similar to eBay). Try contacting him, maybe he can help.
