Need help with key

So I lost the metal part of the cx7 key. (i have a backup key)

Can you buy just the metal part and is that section chipped where it must be programmed?

Any experience with this?

Any issue with this being an issue with the craftsmanship of the key and should it be covered under warranty?

Costs?

I think Mazda will sell only the complete unit which will be $$$. I did have a stand alone key made for my wallet. That key will unlock the door but, not allow me to start the car. If all else fails and you feel you must have a fully functional key unit, you might tery ebay.

They will sell the key by itself, its not too much just for the key partif im not mistaken mine cost me $32 , and no there was no issues with the craftsmanship so it wont be under warranty
