Ok so i have a 98 protege with a 1.8 and std transmission. Recently i've began having the following problems with my tranny.
1) i can no longer shift quickly from first to second i have to pause very briefly in neutral to avoid grinding the gears
2) I can no longer downshift into second without grinding the gears. Ive tried everything i can think of to get it to go in smoothly (double clutching etc)
I recently had my transmission fluid changed (switched to synthetic) so i was thinking maybe they screwed that up somehow; didn't put enough fluid in. I only mention this because the problem started right after getting my tranny fluid changed.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated
