I usually just put the regular in but occasionally i will run the premium. I dont like the price of the premium even tho it has been going down lately....

I rememer when I owned my MP3 I always used premium, there should be a sticker on the inside of your gas lid if I remember correctly
yes, i always use premium. if you think about it, it only ends up being about 2 dollars more each time you fill up, not a big deal... and trust me i HATE spending money.
but it's definitely worth it in the long run.

you have to run premium with the MP3 ecu. Thats the whole point of having the ECU you do. It makes use of premium octane and results in that extra 10bhp.

Taking a chance of causing detonation in these stock motors is not worth the $2. The ecu can retard timing so much to compensate but driving hard or up inclines when the motor is hot could be bad. Check your plugs to see if there are shiny specs on them from your pistons.

it really doesnt matter what u run if ur car is stock or n/a but if u are boosted or u have up grades premium gas wouldnt hurt at all i run either depending on money and they both run ok in my car i can see a difference though using premium.

This is incorrect.
Speaking as someone who runs an MP3 ECU in my P5, Premium is required. There's no wiggle room...it's not optional, the car is programmed to run on it.

^and it will adjust the timing if it recognizes Regular gas. All that is going on is that you won't be benefiting from the advanced timing.
I don't need the extra power in the winter, so I run regular and have had zero problems.
