I was driving last night on the highway, over reving 4th to pass a dude, shifted into 5th and then was just crusing. Had the heat on... Canada is cold... and i was smelling a buring smell from the vents. There was no change in the car at all... driving fine. and the Temp did no go up at all. When i got to me destination i popped the hood and checked around with a flashlight. There was no smoke, and nothing Obviously wrong.

Anyone think this is something i should worry about?

was it the first time you had the heat on this year or in in a while? I've noticed that when I first turn the heat on for year in my car and house for that matter I get that smell. Possibly from dirt/dust settling on the core or in the vents and getting burnt up

hrmm... I dont think I would worry about it... unless it continues, and gets worse...
the worst think (I think) you can smell from the vents is coolant.. then you know some seals are going, and, well, that aint good ;)

Maybe slipped the clutch a bit going into 5th. That's a smell you won't forget!

Sort like burning fiberglass or tar very strong.

na then... this was not very... how do you say... painful or unpleasent. It was not like i was choaking on the smoke. These was just a light smell of buring paper, almost. Im sure it was just the heater. Ill check it out on my drive home and see what happens.
