i jus purchased a spec stage 2+ clutch and when we put it in there is about an inch gap and play between the slave cylinder and the pice that engages and disengages the clutch. is this normal?? any ideas what could be causing this if its not normaL?

do you have a braided clutch line? i've heard ... that the stock clutch line flexes too much for upgraded clutches, though i'm not sure if thats related to your problem...

Have you bled the line yet? if not then thats probably yrou problem. if you have make sure your clutch for is still on the pivot and the slave cylinder rod is moving while someone else hits the clutch.

when i push the clutch pedal in it engages the clutch all the way but when not engaged the clutch engager piece moves back and forth anout an inch.

are you talking about the clutch fork that come out of the side of your trans? or the actually rod that pushes it?
