Kumho announced today that it will launch at SEMA this year world's first ultra low profile 15 Series tire. The 385/15ZR22 size ECSTA SPT KU31 Kumho 15 Series tire has been developed for performance models such as the Ferrari F430, Dodge Viper, and Corvette Z06.
The company said it used on the Kumho 15 Series tire a new computer simulation technology to optimize the sidewall structure in order to prevent the formation of standing waves or ripples in the contact patch. Tyhis is a problem that occurs when the heat builds up at high speeds.
"The world's first 15 Series tire is a perfect example of what we have achieved through our
ongoing commitment to research and development," said Sae-chul Oh, Kumho's President and CEO. "This is one of many innovations by our company which include aroma, colored smoke and X-speed tires. We will maintain our position at the cutting edge of tire technology as we race towards our goal of becoming one of the world’s top five tire makers."

can you say rough ride much? The size is only in 22's, this is good in the sense that if ganster paul man wants to get this it would be ideal. Although 385 is INSANELY wide.

I bet installers HATE them. Imagine wrestling that onto a wheel.

Would these fit my P5 if I rolled the fenders? I'll also be looking into some anti-gravity wheels to make up for the weight difference in tire mass!

I love Kumho, they really are working on being one of the best tire companies. Not there yet, but they are fresh and innovative and they offer great prices.
Go Kumho.

I couldn't imagine anything more useless. Why would you put 22's on a high performance car?

I don't care if my wheels do fracture every time I come within 20 feet of a pothole, I just want a 385!!!!!!!! on my car.

Ironic use of words since this is the same company that invented the "Aroma" tire and the "Colored Smoke" tire.

Shoot, they most likely grease up the entire thing and need one huge compressor.

here, there, everywhere. Switched my addiction from the forums to video games and studying a while ago, haha. I'm still around every once in a while.

If im not mistaken I think you can run 22 on a Skyline no prob. In fact there is an Amuse edition running 22. Ill see if I can find it.

I'm not arguing that you could...I know it's possible. My question is why you'd put a 22" wheel on that kind of car. What does the lightest 22" wheel weigh? 25 lbs? 30?

^^^Cause you have money in excess and need an excuse to waste it, that's why.

Cause 22" HRE's on a Ferrari look fucking hawt. When you're talking 500+ hp and people who don't spend their days on a track, 5 or 10 extra pounds of wheel mass isn't a huge concern.

actually it is, because it is a rotating mass. The faster it goes, the "heavier" it gets. Then you also have to take into account how it's going to affect the suspension with the extra unsprung weight.

I think what he meant was, most people who own cars like that dont track them so dont give 2 shits about wheel weight...

Well, if we're throwing the performance aspect out...ummm...fuel economy? :p
Seriously, why pay $180k for a super-high-performance car whose performance you don't care about? Fucking retarded IMO. Buy a Bentley/Rolls/Maybach and feel free to throw some D's on that bitch.

you realize that most of these supercars are bought by rich cocks that just have money and could give to shits about track performance...come on, I know you know dis! :p
