Hey,
I am looking at upgrading my turbo, what is the main diffrence between the gt28 and the gt28rs?
the gt28 has a bigger wheel then the gt28rs?
And also what is the housing A/R?

I'm not really impressed by the gt28rs anymore. Save a little cash and go gt28r.
Or if money isnt a problem I'd go gt30r, jdm sam turbo. Personally if I had the money I'd go gt30r next.

i run 12 psi with ease.. not even touching the capabilities of the 2871.. i have had it as high as 16 psi and it still had alot more!

Are you running bigger injectors?

it i run the 440's on teh 2871r, could i possibilly go to 20 psi's or would i have to up to the 720's?
(this is just planing on the future stuff)
and waht Turbo Housing A/R should i get; the .64 or the .88
and what is the Turbo Housing A/R

440s are good to around 18-19 i would go to 565... 720s are huge and i wouldnt touch them until at least 24 psi..

Wow. I was running out of juice at 11psi on the stock turbo. Did you up your pressure?

at the end of my full build i want to be running about 20 PSI
so the 2871r with 565 good enough for it, or should i run the 720 just incase, also would i need to upgrade my fuel pump?

depending on your goals and where you want your power band. I have a 64 a/r 28RS and I'm more than happy with it. I have boosted as high as 12 (accidentally) at as low as 3000 rpm. with an 84 a/r your powerband will be a lot higher in the rpm range.

stock injectors on these cars can handle upwards of 14 psi.. i stop at 12.. if i wanted though i could make it rich as shit. but i dont want that.. i will probably go back to a 440 injector soon, and bump back to 16psi.. i figure i put all the money it it to support that..why not run it.. haha

Keep in mind He has forged internals running that boost with GT28RS.
The Original Poster is running stock internals.
For the stocker internals guys such as myself...
Don't run over 7 psi!!!
Basically 7psi on a GT28RS = 10 Psi on a T25

yes i know this.. in regards to the first post though.. it all depends on what you want out of the car.. are you looking to get alot of power? do you want fast spool times for the turbo? you could always have your stocker upgraded!!

fast spool times is kinda irrelivent(way wrong). the car wont ahve traction fo the fast spool times. I want a turbo that will be good for the future, i plan on doing internals in the next year or two. I was thinking upgrading the stocker until then, and once its built throw a gt3071r in there! but then theres the tranny!!!!!

Not having traction isnt necessarily true. You can always get an electronic boost controller that limits the boost depending on gear and rpm. Thus allowing for traction and still having the fastest acceleration. Plus you can always get some good rubber and strong motor mounts. That seems to help a lot.
