You may remember that some time back before the world collapsed and before GM and Chrysler started chatting with each other, a deal between Nissan and Chrysler was announced. Nissan would get Dodge Rams to transform into Nissan Titans, while Chrysler would get Versa sedans to call Dodges and would sell them in South America. We'll the first product of that agreement has surfaced today — the Trazo C1.8 by Dodge. No, we've never heard of Trazo, either, but that's the badge that will support the Chrysler group's first foray into the South American sedan market, and the car debuted today at the Sao Paulo Motor Show.
The C1.8 is obviously our Nissan Versa, and it goes largely unchanged other than grilles and badges. It uses an E100 ethanol-capable 1.8-liter and an automatic or a manual transmission. The rest pretty much speaks for itself. But check out the press release--it's fun to see one manufacturer write so many nice things about a car another company designed.
