Stock suspension, right? What's the offset? Thanks for the pictures, I plan on getting 235/40s or 225/45s when I burn off my stock tires.

Yes stock suspension.. the offset is 45,these tires have alot more grip especially in turns, i have ALOT more confidence taking turns.. I highly recommend these tires...

nice ... post a pic of the car from the side!
do you think you would rub if you installed the eibach pro-kit springs (.8 drop front, .7 drop rear)?

Nice, I was thinking about that tire size on my RX8 wheels.

^ Me too! I'm hoping it won't rub.

i shouldnt rub at all.. mine dont rub so far and ive had them on for 2 weeks.. you should be fine. It all comes down to the offset of the wheels. Rx-8 rims have an offset of around 48-50 right?.. and my rims have an offset of 45 and they dont rub, so im 99% positive that rx-8 rims will be perfect, and look really good too.. a huge fan of the rx-8 rims, especially the guy with the silver MS3 and the black rx-8 rims.. SEX! haha
ill post pics soon, school work has been killin me..

Do you think the 235 / 40's would rub at all if you lower the car?

I think it'll depend on the drop and the offset of your wheels.

I've seen on other posts that people who have 235 40's with a full load of people in the car have some rubbing. I love the wider tires but also plan on dropping the suspension. so my two options would be to use stock tire size on 18X8's or get the fenders rolled. Any suggestions?

Yes, stock RX-8 wheels are 18x8 +50. I have the same tires on my WORK wheels which are 18x8.5 +46. Love them! Though my next set of tires will be 245.

I'm thinking about buying these tires what do you think about them so far man? How do they compare to our potenzas. I'm ordering hopefuly the next 2 weeks, so let me know! Thanks!

i Like these tires alot better, especially since they are wider they really have alot more grip, and when i go threw turns im alot more confident knowing theres more tire under there. Great tire.. would have rather had these then the potenzas anyday

Hey Ray,
I hope you ordered them in 225's and not 235's, cuz if you did it's not gonna do well on the stockers.

The stock tires won't fit on these rims?

Rich,
I was refering to the width of the tires, a plus 1 on the stock rim should be 225, not 235 <-- works on a 18x8 much better, won't look how do you say skinny fat?

Yeah I got 235/40/18 I was told by few people this set up would work fine, we'll have to see I'm hoping to mount them this coming weekend.

Oh ok gotcha. I thought you where talkin bout 18 X 8's.
I agree that 235s probably won't work with stock rims. They are used with rims that are between 8 and 9 inches wide. The stock rims are 7.5" I think.

I used to own a gti, which came with a 7" rim and came with 225/40/17 stock from factory. I understand where your coming from with this, the recommend wheel for this rim is 215-225 but doesnt mean 235 wont fit. I do recall the rims on this thread only being 7.5 and its the same size tires. It will work I'll just wear my tires out a little bit faster, but I'm planning on getting bigger wheels soon. Just need some christmas money...ha

stock speed 3 rims are 18x7 52.5 mm offset

Well I'm pretty sure that mazda knows the right size and when I went in for my last oil change, I spoke to a master tech and I was told they are 18x7.5 not 7. I already have this set up if you see my sig. I'm running my these nittos on my stockers and I'm getting much better traction than the stock tires. Love these nittos!!!
