As you may have already guessed by know, Subaru is celebrating the Impreza WRX STI's 20th birthday with the launch of a special edition model that will be available only in Japan with production limited to 300 units. The Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary gets a sportier suspension setup with new coilover dampers while exterior upgrades include the addition of a flat black front lip spoiler and rear wing as well as special decals and 18-inch alloy wheels as standard.In the interior, the commemorative edition is enhanced with a set of Recaro bucket seats decorated with cherry-red stitching and an STI leather gearbox knob. Prices for the Impreza WRX STI 20th Anniversary are set in Japan at 4,126,500 Yen which comes to around $42,000 US with the current exchange rates.

I would expect MUCH MORE for an aniversary edition. This is pretty plain, and only 300? That's really rare. Subie has done OUTRAGEOUS spec-C cars in ORANGE! If you're going to do only 300 cars you can get away with something CRAZY-WILD. This car doesn't look like any type of celebration to me.

uhh.... the impreza has NOT been out for 20 years, definately not for the wrx nor wrx sti either... the very first impreza showed up in showrooms in the middle of 1992, that is NOT 20 years ago... you're making me look old!

now, STI as a brand itself came out in 1988 and that itself IS 20 years ago

so be specific as this is already confusing to most americans who automatically relate "STI" to the super version of the impreza instead of being a performance tuner brand that actually has real upgrade parts and also other models such as the legacy sti or pleo sti (neither available outside of japan)
