Yesterday My girlfriend purchased a 2006 Mazda3 Grand touring sedan and I've been looking at parts here and there and I'm wondering what are some of the popular mods that people are doing? I know she wants tint/rims and lowering springs. I've looked at exhaust and some suspension components but can't seem to make up my mind.. apparently I've also noticed a few people do the screw on oil filter conversion to avoid the hassle of getting the cartridges. so whats some advice for a newbie to the mazda3? http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/7508/52244695pq7.jpg

Cold air intake, Motor Mount, short shifter, cat back exhaust, eiback springs and then whatever customization you are going to do i.e. rims, tires, tint

I was looking at eibach springs too, I liked them when I had them on my talon, nice subtle drop that makes a difference!.. I know shes against having a CAI because thats how I trashed the first engine in my 6, and she has an automatic anyways so sts is out of the question.. are the motor mounts prone to ripping? I know it happened on my 6 and made a night and day difference with the CP-E mount.. does anyone have a fav as far as the catback exhaust is concerned? I kinda like the HKS but again Idk about the whole "fart can" deal..

Honestly, I'm going to get a cosworth intake manifold, a header (idk what brand yet), coil-overs, a super grounder, a dash hawk, body stiffening bars, and a cat back system. I'm going to get the mazdaspeed catback system because it's sounds real throaty and it looks stock to the unknowing eye. I already have a short ram air from cosmo racing in my car and I love it. I've also replaced all the stock interior lights with LEDs and they look good. you might find some ideas in the "how-to" section of the forum. It's gonna take me a while to pay for all my stuff, but on investments like a car, it's better to spend the extra money because it'll cost less in the long run, so my economics professor says.

Welcome to the Family. :) To answer your questions you pretty much have to find out what your gf wants on her car and what she doesn't want. (sssh) As for lowering springs if she wants a mild drop then check out Progress springs, Eibach prokit or MS springs. If she want a much more aggressive drop try Eibach Sportlines, Road Magnet or Megan Racing. A good tint job and some nice 18s and your car would look good. (bowdown)
