Main on seal on manual tranny

so my tranny is leaking pretty badly. Got some info from someone that it may be the main seal on the tranny, behind the throw out bearing. I called mazda and the seal is only like $8. My question is how bad is that seal to replace, I know I will have to pull everything out. Do you have to tear the whole transmissin apart to get to it out and the new one in?

I'll dig out my supplemental G-series transmission factory manual tomorrow when I'm over at the garage. Get Barry to call after 2pm and remind me to look for it.
