WTB:

a GOOD pre catalytic converter that will fit my 1998 Protege.

I am getting a code P0421 (DEfective catalytic converter) so i am looking for a good one. but used at a good price is fine.

Rock auto got a new one for 250 non-ca emission pre cat, so it saves you some money from the ca emissions one. There is a 8 year 80K warantee on cats so if you in that you get it for free from the dealer. If not junk yard is ur best bet. What I would do is get a stock manifold for a non-ca emissions car put that on and weld a cat into the header pipe and weld the O2 after it.
