I figured I'd post this in here as well as it appears very few people actually venture into the regional forums. It's going to be a huge event sponsored by the shop I frequent. I'd love to get some other Mazdas guys to show up - we can make it an unofficial Mazda meet before for some lunch or something and then all roll up to the even together. Drag racing, drifting, car show, live band, etc - it'll all be there. For more information please see this thread: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123722807.

LOL so why are all the Halloween parties on Friday the 24th or Sat the 25th when Halloween is actually on a Friday this year?! I mean, how often to you get to have a Halloween party on Halloween!

in my neighborhood..that means you are dealing w/ kids wanting candy all night. they shut down my small street and all the houses set up in the coul-de-sac so you aren't opening the door all night. so that's why ours is the weekend before.
that and we have at least 4-5 people out of town that come in for it, so fridays are bad. plus you can't start drinking as early on friday :D

But Friday's the best day to start drinking - nothing ends a crappy week better than lots of alcohol after work, LOL. Yeah, I know what you mean about the street party stuff. When I was younger my street used to do the same. Either way, if you find you aren't still too wasted/hungover you should definitely try to make it up.

I'm not sure if this was directed to me but Mason, OH is about 4 hours due south of Detroit. Xenia, OH where the event takes place is only a little closer - probably like 3.5 hours from Detroit.

Hmm... Still a little far for a day run. Wish it were closer, I could easily bring a group of Mazdas/Hondas with me.

True, but to make a case for attending the event does go from 2-9 PM with all sorts of different things going on. I've travelled 4 hours to go to Warped Tour back when I lived in VA. I also travelled 3+ hours up to Delaware for like a 6 hour show. That wasn't quite as nice but I was able to stay at my fiance's sister's place so it wasn't too bad. Either way, add in lunch and you've got stuff going from like noon-9 PM
