Hi guys, I was at the tire store the other day and the guy wanted extra $15 (on top of the mount and balance price) per wheel to swap the TPMS from the stockers to the new wheels. Did any of you experience this, or are they trying to make money on me?

That's about right. Those things are a bit tricky to work on. Discount quoted $7.50 each, but did it for $20 total.

ya, they are a bit fragile, and take some extra time to swap (worth the 15 bucks imo)
or
you may have got a TPMS "rebuild kit" for cheap, they usually cost around 25-30 bucks

How? All you do is un bolt them from the wheels...

Grommet size is important and apparently they're not even close to all the same size. The module must rest flat against the wheel, I believe. Torque when they're put back on is critical, as well.

Seriously, all you do is unbolt them. It is not rocket science and if you're being charged for this... lol!
