South Florida Caravan to Mazda Palooza

Anyone want's to Caravan with James (jam_asian) and myself (Reyan) is welcome. We are meeting at th Pompano Beach Service Station on the turnpike at 7:45 am, we will be leaving there around 8:15am, heading north to the west palm beach service station on the turnpike, should get there about 8:45 - 9:00 am, we will be leaving west palm around 9:15 am. Anyone interested can contact me at 954-649-3536. We will be getting of the turnpike in Port St. Lucie onto 95 to save some toll money.

I'm down fellas. West Palm or Moroso is good for me. Only an hour and a half or less from the house. And thanks for the caravan back down South after the Palooza. I liked not having to keep up with people going 90 mph dodging in and out of traffic. For that reason I've always hated caravans. But I'm glad this one was different.

I wish I coulda joined the caravan! I too don't normally caravan for just the reason stated above. I will not do 90 to keep up with idiots weaving all over the road.

But they ALWAYS have some sort of big event planned. And name change???

Well, all I know is the track better be better now than it was 2 years ago. It was like driving on slippery glass. I still wouldn't feel 100% safe to drive on it, but I gotta do it SOMETIME I guess. People always ask about slips and I don't have any. (poke)

Noooo.. but funny story:

We went to Moroso this one time thinking that there was a car meet there. There was a bunch of us - mostly Nissans though. So when we get there - there's NO ONE there but us. lol We all looked at the guy that made us get up early on a weekend and were thinking of lynching him, when a guy from the Moroso office came out. He asked us what we were doing there. We told him that SOMEONE (quickly pointing to the culprit) thought that there was supposed to be a car meet there that day. He said that obviously we were mistaken, but offered us the strip if we wanted to hold our own little "show". So we did, and the guy came over on his golf cart. He asked if any of us would be interested in karting. Of course, a few of us were. So we ended up suiting up in some karts and helmets and got to haul ass around the track. Nice fella - whoever he was. I got sick about an hour and 30+ laps in. lol

If we meet up when Moroso opens, it's got to be on a Fri or Sat. I think Fridays were test and tune's. That would be a good start - especially for myself and Pro5x2 who live further North than most.

Friday's is best for me also, not only because it's test and tune but it's my day off also. (wiggle)

Fri night is good for me, but wife doesn't get off work till 6:30, so we wouldn't be headed that way till 7:30 or so, but we're abot 45 minutes north of Moroso, so, shouldn't be a problem.

take 595 to us 27 and continue south on 27 untill you see the denny's on the right, it's quite a drive if you do not know where your going, I'll probably head out tomorrow night.

i've actually never been yet. so, i can't really say.

More than likely, it'll be a chill and meet event with a few guys running.

I know it'll see more action when the road course actually opens, rather than the 1/4 mile strip

I call Palm Beach International Raceway today (formerly Moroso), I spoked to Kim and she said that the drag strip would be open on the 12th next Wed. for test and tune and continue every Wed. and Friday from 4pm to 11pm. So I guess we can start planning a date, I think as mentioned before Friday night would best suite everyone. Let's get a suggested date so we can organise a meet.

For test and tune the rules are not that strick, as long as you have good tires, a seat belt and a safety helmet if your running under 13's. Will post more rules soon.

Here is the the event calender for the track. Keep in mind if we wanna wait for december that H.I.N Miami is dec. 20. So Friday 19 will be out since most people would be getting their cars ready. Let's see if there is any Friday that will work for everyone, we got these friday's in Nov. 14th,21st and 28th (black friday) and dec. 5th and 12th. Let's get some feed back.

it suck b/c it is a 12hour course and they give you 35 min. for a section but it takes my 5 min. to complete it so i have to sit infront of the computer for 30 min. gingaling my balls...!
