Has anyone installed the mirrors with the turn signals? Or does anyone know if doors are prewired for them? The dealership near me is useless!

Thanks!

I installed signal mirror on my Prius. Even if CX9 is not pre-wired for it (my guess), it is not a difficult job. The touch part is to run wires thru the rubber boot between door and the frame. Use some lubricant on wires and a steel flexible/thin rod to pull the wires (2) thru it. I am sure the kit will come with instructions to tell you where to hook up the wire to. It is usually inside the side kick panel near your left foot well. If not, run the wire to the rear end's signal lamp.

It is not difficult at all, just splice the turn signal wire behind the mirror to the new mirrors. The CX-9 has led turn signals at the sideview mirror covers. Maybe the new mirrors youy are going to buy has the steps to follow. I bought those mirrors, once they arrive I will post how to install them. Good Luck,

The dealership just called... Apparently it is all wired and ready to go if you want to add the mirrors! Just gotta plug them in!

I was also interested in adding the chrome piece to my tailgate, they said that was super simple as well. Just thought I would share!

The rear finisher (that chrome piece) is a nightmare to install.

You have to disassemble the entire liftgate to do it. I'd buy some wide chrome tape and make a piece before I tore the interior apart.

I have an 09 CX-9 and the install of the mirrors is extremely simple. There is a plastic cover that pops off on the door and from there you can see the wire assembly for the mirrors. Disconnect it and then unscrew the 3 bolts that hold the mirror on. The 3rd bolt was tough to get to and I had to loosen the door panel to gain access. Once that is done it is a simple plug in and screw the bolts back.

I called the dealer and they don't have them in stock and they are pretty useless. I was wondering where you bought them at?

I have a 2011 that i just bought for my wife and would like to suprise her with the mirrors.

Thanks!

They use to have them at mazdaparts.org. They don't have them anymore. Try ebay and see if any dealer is selling them there.

Are the turn signal mirrors heated?

I had a a small accident and had to replace the passenger mirror. I got it at "parts dot com" last month:

TE726912ZF SUB MIRROR(R),DOOR 1 $309.63

Just like in post #8 above, it is very easy to replace the entire assembly, you just pull off the plastic cover on the inside of the door & windshield where the mirror is. There are 3 screws that hold it in place and one electrical connector. I shoved a rag down below when unscrewing the mounting bolts just in case one slipped to stop it from falling inside the door.

I had to replace the colored housing as well, mine was Dolphin Gray in color:

TE71691N170 HOUSING R ,DR MIRROR 1 $36.96

I'm pretty sure these prices were much lower than what it would cost from a dealer.

One other note, if you buy from parts dot com the shipping price originally was over $50 but when I was actually billed it came out to $16.34, shipped by FedEx.

To the previous poster when you removed the mirror does it have another plug for the signal wire in the event that you wanted to put in the mazda mirrors with the turn signal?

There is only one electrical plug for the whole mirror. My mirrors have everything: BSM, heated and the signal lamp.
