I soooo want to see how it looks and if they got smart enough to give it a FMIC.

there hasn't been any real details that i've heard...i guess we'll see in a couple more months if they decide to release anything or not.
also, keep in mind, a Mazdaspeed concept does NOT equal a Mazdaspeed production model.

True, but I am hoping that they would have taken some notes as to what things we are doing to improve on their products in order to further advance the appeal for the new 6 or MS6. I mean, if they look at Mitsubishi, they have run with the FMIC stick and put it on not only the Evo but also the Rallyart Lancer as well. I know that a forged motor straight from the factory would be great, but would never happen.

Guys, if a MS concept debuts at Paris, it's highly UNLIKELY we'll see it here in the states. Since the 2nd gen 6 is different from USDM and the rest of the world, a more feasible concept for us would be something that showed up at Detroit/New York/Chicago/LA. It might be nice to look at, but we'll only see something if they show it here.
Also, my source hasn't confirmed anything about a new MS6 yet. It will probably not surface until 2011 at the earliest, based on Mazda's past product cycles.
Mazda needs to remember that most MS6 owners bought their cars in 06/07.
Must of us that are into these types of cars keep cars at most 4 years, maybe 5. If there is no MS6 to buy come time to trade mine in, I'll be moving onto something else, and it won't be a Mazda. Matter of fact, i'm seriously considering jumping ship regardless next time around unless they finally get a mAzdaspeed product right without bugs.

I do think that they will come out with another MS6 or more so am hoping. I think they if mazda does however they can not make any major mistakes.
while i loved/loves the MS6 I think the next gen should be something different then the regular model. although practicality is lessened a nice 2 door AWD drive MS6 coupe with 300+ would be nice. I dont care for any accords but all of honda's 2 door versions have been pretty clean... just a wish, I love have 4-5 doors i just think it would look badass

I just wanted a Mazdaspeed 6 wagon in white. :(
I'll probably not go for the new MS6 if they do make it. The new one just doesn't do it for me, and it's getting bigger. I really hate how everyone is packing cars with all these new features, and additions, all the while making the cars heavier, wider, and longer with every new generation.

Mazda has to put out a new mazdaspeed6. There just isnt that much competition in the performance awd category under $35k that is a nice sedan or wagon.

They'll only do it if it's cost effective. The previous MS6 wasn't partly because it didn't sell particularly well. Hence the reason for the MS3 continuing into the next gen 3. If it makes money then gung ho!

I think the US 6 needs a new MS treatment, but with our version being different than the JDM spec, it's a bit tougher this time. It's not as simple as green-lighting a car that already exists, it'll have to be modified, and the body will be different in terms of proportions.
The only way I could see this working is if they actually come out with the JDM MS6, then bring that exact car over, which would actually make it a bit smaller than the current 6. I wouldn't hold your breath for it.

Do a little searching, this has been discussed before. The JDM and USDM 6's are different, plain and simple.
We might see something in 2011 when they do the mild refresh of the current 6, maybe some hope that the new MS6 is in the works, but as of right now, there's still no new evidence that its part of the plan.

the USDM 6 is larger than the JDM 6, mazda loss a lot of sales on the previous body style because it was too small for some people.

wish we could use those head and taillights

And now they will lose at least one sale, because now it's too big for me.
Agreed to what Newf said ... watch for an SVT Fusion in the future though, hopefully with the ecoboost twin-turbo 3.5 V6 that's now in the Lincoln MK ... let's just hope that the Fusion doesn't get larger too ...and that they don't put in an automatic (even if it is dbl-clutch ... blah, blah).

I thought I read somewhere that the new 6 shared the same platform as the new Taurus. If the SHO is making a comeback, it would be feasible to see a MS6 with SHO mechanicals.

Nope, not even close. The 6 rides on the CD3-2 platform, while the Taurus rides on the D platform (forget what code it is). They may be able to share engine/drivetrain components though.

It's Japan's version of a MS6, which is (and was last time too) a regular 6 with a body kit, wheels and better seats. It's all cosmetic.

Japan's Mazdaspeed does not equal our Mazdaspeed. Over there MPS = Mazdaspeed.
