Wassup everybody? I have been a member of this forum for a while now because of my 96 protege lx. Sunday, I rode to Alabama and bought a turbo MP3 from a fellow member. I will post some pics tomorrow when the sun comes out. This is my first turbo car and I want to treat it right. Anybody got anything as far as special maintanance or anything?

How about a shot of the WHOLE engine bay. So we know what setup? Dude +1 I LOVE the yellow MP3s. Congrats, how many pounds is it running and what type of tuning you got? Make sure you don't have the stock MP3 ECU cause the timing on it is too WICKED for turbo.

sorry, no while engine bay pics until i can clean it up a bit. as far as set-up goes: spool ITS turbo kit, sard blow-off valve, turbonetics wastegate, garrett super 60 turbo, custom FMIC, Vortech 10:1 FMU, its at 6 psi and i plan to keep it there for a while. avarela, expect to be hearing from me a lot because im new to this lol. how long have u been boosting? whats ur set-up like?

Sweet...Spool tubular manifold? Super 60 is that a t2 or t3? I assume T3 since weren't all the Spool manifolds made for T3 setup. Also you are located in what state? Noticed you got a Dynamic Turbo coupler meaning it's been in Florida at some point.

My FIRST and probably everyone's first piece of advice is INVEST in a wideband sensor. Something digital AEM is what I have. Worth EVERY penny and most important gauge to have in a boosted car I wanna say even B4 a boost gauge.

its a t3, the guy i got it from was in atlanta, and before him was missouri. i notice sometimes while the car idles the rpms drop down and then go back up a few times. i need to take it somewhere to c wut they tell me. i'll def. look for a wideband, what kind of difficulty rating would you give the install?

hey can you take some shots of the intake manifold. i unplugged mine and forgot how they are hooked up. I don't know ANY local guys that have an MP3. I just need to see where the two vacuum lines on top of the intake manifold on the bracket. In fact it looks like you may even have an MSP intake manifold i never had that little green thing on mine.

yea i'll do that for u tomorrow morning. im havin a hell of a time tryin to take this egr valve off tho. the bolts will not budge, n i think im stripping them further. good thing i got some replacements from the dealership. i guess i'll just get a #4 bolt-out socket from work tomorrow

I don't know what size it is but usually an adjustable wrench will do the trick. It's gotta be a good one or like you said itll strip. In addition look into spraying it with some PB Blaster. In case you've never heard of it it's a spray that eats away whatever may be keeping it from budging off. I have like three cans, spray it wait 5 min and try again. Good luck and thanks in advance for those pics.

ps-I don't mean to change your subject with the picture I just haven't been able to find help with that.
