I am guessing I became a victom of the rear end snapping...i did a launch off the line racing some dude and hear a loud snap. 4wd light started flashing and then went off. Everytime i slow to a stop you can hear it click click clicking. Also on takeoff now the front 2 tires just spin like all hell. Anyone have any input on this??? oh yea and the front wheel drive light is not on, and dashhawk dtc's are 0

probably snapped the mount. take it to the dealer is all there is too it. then once they fix them i would suggest upgrading them if you plan on doing that again.

Since you're not getting an obnoxious clunking from the rear, but you're getting no power back there either, I'd say you snapped a halfshaft or CV.

the guy in service was actually very cool...i asked him about the mods on the car and he said that since it is most likely not directly related to the modifications there shouldnt be a problem and it will be covered under warranty. the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act allows people to modify their cars and unless the problem with the car is directly related to the modified part then you still get to keep your warranty. i just got lucky enough that this dealership follows that law because most dont.

Your lucky because a mod that adds more power directly adds more strain to the drivetrain.

I ve broken 3 rear diff mounts. well its not the diff its self its the bolts that are breaking that hold the diff to the mount theres only 2. I have a cold air intake, catback exhaust and turbo smart bov. Its deffently a part to upgrade

i might have to replace my alternator as well... i wanna know what guy decided to put it 3 inches away from the hot side of the turbo thinking a tiny piece of heat shielding would safice.

There are two Mazdaspeed certified dealership near cincinnati one is called "Kings Mazda" and I believe the other one is Jake Sweeney Mazda.

Kings is on the north end of Cincinnati.. by you guessed it Kings Island theme park.

I actually purchased my Speed6 there, my salesman was really cool. I never went back because it was about an hour from where I lived and never wanted to drive that far for service.

I went to Jake Sweeney and they were too high pressure sales...

yea i bought mine from kings...everyone there is very non understanding about the warrantys but jake sweeny didnt even question anything i have done to the car...the fixed it, and that was that...only thing i was charged for was new brakes which had nothing to do with the rear end obviously. service took about a week since they pretty much kept guessing and checking but they provided a car for free so everything worked out great

So far (knock wood) I haven't had to get any repairs, but it's always good to know where you can go and get good service.

I bought mine from Sweeney, you are right about the sales pressure but I conducted all my negotiations via e-mail so it wasn't too bad. I have heard their service dept leaves something to be desired.

My brother took his Miata to Kings and had nothing but praise for their service dept (it was stock though). I have read elsewhere that they gave people trouble for having mods on their cars.

IIRC Jeff Wyler had a Mazdaspeed dealer somewhere around Eastgate, don't know if they still are a Speed dealer or not.

I take my car to Jeff Wyler @ Eastgate. I forget the Mazda guys name but he loves the 'speed and always talks about it when I bring mine in. Can't say anything about the warranty issues though because the last time I took it in, I didn't have any mods on it.
