Hey,
The side skirt on my Mazda5 (RH) gor crunched. It was either my wife or my son who did this....not me.....honestly.
Anyway, the dealer price for a single new skirt is something in the neighborhood of $350 CAD. Do you guys (gals) know of any other aftermarket options? I checked BaysonR but he doesn't seem to have anything for the Mazda5.
Let me know if you come across anything.
Thanks,
Anthony

My driver side just got crunched at teh car wash last week. The body shop quoted $515! Luckily the car wash is paying for it.

I was jsut told that the side skirts sold as an aftermarket piece for the Sports, is not the same as the factory side skirts found on the Touring and the GT.
Can anyone confirm?

As per the rear roof spoiler, yes, the non-factory one is different, but the side sills look exactly the same to me (Sport, Touring, Grand Touring) (dunno)

I thought so too, but it kind of makes sense now that I think about it.
The skirts on the Touring and GT have about 10 clips that run along the rocker panel. The Sport does not have provisions for the clips. So I have a feeling that while they may appear to be the same externally, the mounting method is different (i.e. clips vs sticky tape).

Oh, so let's add the Sports with PEP to the list then. Anyway, if our cars already have the holes then buying aftermarket ones should not be a big deal, just need to drill the side sill I guess.

IIRC the sport has lots of plastic plugs in the bottom of the side panel. I had to remove one to install one of the factory splash guard fasteners. So it might mount the same. I think it was an inch or so in diameter.

Good morning Anthony,
I acutally have the same issue with my M5, I scraped the right side spoiler while going out of a parking slot and managed to nib about 2 clips as well. I have not asked my dealer yet regarding a replacement part. I take it the one they got you included the clips?

Yup, it came painted with the clips and took about 10 mins to install....just snap out the old one and snap in the new...
It cost me around $300CDN with taxes.

Reviving this thread, it is the closest I found :).
My wife's 08's RH side sill extension got a good hit underneath and did not break, yet the hit snapped 4 of the clips, I'll have no choice but to rip them off and put new ones. I know antlind might be off now enjoying a new car, but if somebody else have the instructions around can you let me know what Mazda parts are those?
I found a couple of similar clips/fasteners for the Protege side sills, but I'm not sure if they are exactly the same
Thanks!

Perhaps we can make a deal. I hate mine. They are not damaged, but make it tough to jack up the car, can't use factory mud guards, local garage can't get his lift under them. How are they removed? Can they just be left off? Any plugs in the body to fill?
Thanks.

Oh, thanks for the bump :), good reminder, haven't had the time to follow-up.
The clips are plastic so they should be easy to "cut". For the panel leftovers there should be fillers available (the plugs mentioned above). Check for the Mazda3, there should be the same...
My side skirt is not damaged (well, it is scratched on the bottom but still in good shape), just 4 clips (the 2 in the rear and 2 in the front) got snapped when my wife did not find the driveway entrance while pulling back, pictures this time.
Anyone knows where to get those clips/fasteners?
Thanks again
