So...Im at a bit of a turning point...

My p5 has been great to me, fantastic car..

however..By the end of this year itll have about 100k miles on it.

Should i keep the car ? thats basically my question.

I want and have the means to get a much better or..(faster) car.

But..If i keep the P5 itll be paid off in like 5-6 months.

That would leave it open for mods n such...I know quite a bit about the mod potential..or the "lack of" for that matter.

Been lookin at some cars with a bit more potential, S2000, wrx, Cobalt SS, Mazda6, RX-8...etc..Stuff between the 10k - 15k range...

Or i could put that money into the P5...But im having a hard time convicing myself to keep the thing and put all that money into it.

SO overall my question is aimed at the people with modded / turbo p5's. If you could. Would u have just bought a faster car? or Do you think that keeping the P5 was worth all the money and mods/ trouble.

The best type of car in the world is one that's paid off.

ya..im beginning to convince myself that maybe just keepin it will be a good idea, and just save up for a new car later..Im only 20 so its not like ill never get a better car.

No payment>Payment...and I wouldn't spend all that money on the car...just do the same that you have been doing...if you have not had a fast car while you have had the P5, why would you NEED one now...so you can go faster...get tickets...

I'd give anything to have my car paid off right now.
I sometimes think about how the mods I've bought could have gone to the car payments instead - and how the car payments I make could go towards a mod I want, lol.

ya i have that same problem..im like..well, why put all this money into the car to mod it if i could just put it into a nother car. :(

I'm loving not having any car payments right now. But I also have no problems w/ the P5 either. If it does start to give me issues, or it bums me out to drive it, then I'll definitely start looking for something new. Or keep it and pick up a cheap Miata.

Well if you get an S2000, at 20 years old, the money you could be spending on mods will be getting spent on car insurance.

Turbo makes people happy. Expessially to a paid off car.

I have no regrets turboing my car and it makes it that much better

If i keep the car and mod it, i will almost garanteed be boosting it.

I have def looked at some potential for the car, like buying a second engine (1199.00) is not bad at all, considering thats like 4 months of insurance on something like an S2k.

That and itd be a virtually new car anyway.

But at the same time...THe cars havin problems lately..Ive had it for quite a while..and its just ..Boring to me now. I really want a new vehicle because its hard to convince myself that paying off the rest of the loan on the P5 is worth it..By the time its paid off itll have over 100k miles.

Kinda sucks to have to pay like 6k more on the loan..on a car that has a limited life left..and very slim and expensive room for potential.

Im gonna keep the car for like 6 more months..and see how i feel then.

If i keep it, then ima mod the crap out of it and throw in a new motor.

If i sell it...It WILL be something worthwhile, maybe a used evo or something.

+1 I kind of wish I didn't trade my P5 in on my MSP. The P5 would of been paid off in 6 months and I could of just gotten the trans fixed. I also for some reason or another liked the p5 better. The MSP is faster by far so i dont know.

Pay it off, buy a beat car and turn it into a project car.
