Yep, mine pooped out on me. I shifted into third doing just over 30, let off the gas so I don't hit an upcoming dip in the road too hard, cleared the bump and started to get back on the throttle and there was no throttle... I mean no throttle... I could put the fuel to the floor and the car wouldn't come off idle. The car was still running and I had no CEL or similar lights suggesting the car had died. I pulled over and I soon as I did the car died and would not start.
Weird! Towed it home where it will sit until Monday when she gets towed to the dealer.

Sorry to hear about that.
Hopefully nothing too serious.. maybe just a loose hose where the fuel line sits?
Did you by chance happen to notice if there was a fuel leak underneath your car where the fuel line is ran?
Does it even crank when you turn the ignition?
Hope you get it fixed, and when you do, let us know what happened.

What's w/that??
Sorry to hear that Boosted. Sure as heck want to know why it's acting that way though.
This may seem like a stupid question, but did you try resetting the ECU/PCM to see if that solves the problem??

Maybe your fuel pump took a crap? Doesnt' sound like anything too serious that warranty wouldn't take care of. I was expecting you to say your motor blew.

Guys, he says it runs and idles it's just that the "thin pedal" has no effect. ETB, remember?
That's why I asked whether or not he tried resetting the ECU/PCM.

Actually, the last thing he said was "I pulled over and I soon as I did the car died and would not start."

Yeah, we reset the ECU and it made no difference.
There is no fuel leak.
Good times!

dang...
well maybe a fuse blew or something for the ETB? Something short circuited? it idle'd...then died as it stopped... sounds fishy...
let us know what the mechanics find. good luck.

sounds not so serious. I bet it's something that takes 10 minutes to fix, but 3 weeks to get the parts for. :-p

My bet is something simple as well. I'm sure it will be fixed soon enough. No Cel and no idle issues = something simple. Maybe a blown fuse for the TP or something.

i recently just had a similar problem to my car. driving on the highway my throttle started to get wacky so as soon as i pull off to the side of the road, the car dies. it cranks but doesnt turn over. towed to the dealer and they replaced the main relay and the fuel pump relay and now she is as good as new. i would guess that it is those two relays since your situation is almost exactly like mine. check the relays!
good luck with the fix!
