my girlfriends pr5 has 30,000 miles and needs the tranny fluid changed. who has the best price on the filter, and what is the best fluid to use?

Mine has 102,000 mi and I've never changed it.
What year is it? Even a 04 with 30k Damn!

Best fluid- Mercon V.

Filter- don't bother changing it until 60,000 miles.

Do a search for the DIY Auto Trans Flush.

Install an additional auxilary fluid cooler.

Yup. My 02 has about 38,000 miles now.

When you get the trans oil done be sure to talk to the shop about the type of fluid the car uses. The last thing you want is for them to use the wrong kind. The should have that info available to them, but it doesn't mean they'll properly look it up.

I had mine done a few weeks ago at the dealer and I made it a point to remind them too.
