I thought maybe if the stocker was no good you would get a couple more hp with an aftermarket bpv. Because extra psi is extra hp. So yes... Extra hp

Apparently somebody never saw the Synchronic BPV video on youtube, nor did they read the post with dyno sheet.
Yes, you can squeeze more HP from replacing the BPV if the stocker is inefficient.

Blah blah blah....It doesnt give you HP..It makes use of what you were losing..so no..It still doesnt "GIVE" you nor "ADD" HP.
End of story on that.

What you're losing with the stock bpv , is what you are getting with an upgraded bpv.
Matt has done dyno's on this and has seen a an added 20+hp throughout the rpm range.

But it does not add HP...It was there all the time.
You have simply increased efficiency.

That's only if you BPV was leaking to begin with. Not everyone's stock BPV leaks boost.

This is like an involuntary thread jacking haha. get: corksport turboback, cobb intake, accessport, FMIC

So upgrading your intake doesn't add hp... because it was there the whole time? You have simply increased efficiency? lol

Sorry, but you're an idiot, so please don't argue with proven facts , proven facts = dyno sheets and from a reputable source, check M3F before you open your fat mouth.(flame)

No....It isn't leaking....and it isn't faulty....It just doesn't hold boost as good as other valves.....

no need for turboback...just the downpipe portion will suffice...cat back will make your car sound nice...but the OP is asking for the cheapest way to reach 300whp

What?! It wasnt there before. Put the car on a dyno and it will dyno lower than it will after you install an intake. Are you going to say the same thing about exhaust modifications, or ecu modifications?
With your logic, no bolt-on is an hp increase since the engine is capable of making such power had the engine come that way from the factory.

+1 Nitrous. Cheapest, fastest.
Not the safest, however, without supporting upgrades.

Damn, you guys beat me to it. I agree, the cheapest fastest way to 300whp is nitrous, but you are looking for reliable too, oh, my bad.
Intake, downpipe and midpipe (get rid of the cats), FMIC, tune/flash. catback is a waste of money.
You can always run meth or spray nitrous or CO2 on the intercooler. I am thinking about running spray when I get my fmic

open down pipe, boost controller map clamp, upgraded top mount, intake, and intercooler sprayer you could be close to 300 on the cheap, but it wouldn't be reliable... but would be the cheapest

MrJon, anybody helped you yet? There of course are many ways to get there. It is easy unless you want wheel horse power. The motor will produce that very nearly with a col.. oops. intake

Step 1
Cobb SRI/cp-e CAI
Step 2
cp-e TBE (uncatted, 3" or bigger)
Step 3
cp-e FMIC
Step 4
Get a tune (AP/Standback) and turn that boost up!

See nov 2008 Import Tuner Mag. for a good start... According to their test they go from 246 whp stock to about 275 whp for 1200. No tune
CAI, Vibrant exhaust & I think corkspot downpipe. (sorry the mag is at home)

yeah, if you think spending about 2.5K is cheap....

Cobb SRI (if you can find one) - $175
Corksport downpipe/midpipe - Think I got both for under $500
FMIC - GROUP BUY!! Check my sig!! - Under $800
That's under $1,500 and will get you close to 300, almost def make it on the motor if not to the wheels after a tune
You are, however, forgetting you gotta get it to the ground. Whether it's a $200 motor mount or the $30 inserts (what I'm running until the cp-e comes back in) MAKE SURE that is part of your build.

yep with the xtra ponies available you will need more tire, and soon as the stockers will be worn in no time. It will be very hard to get off the line without excessive wheelspin. What good fun though, if you like tire smoke

IMO its not the cheapest but it is the most reliable, plus you go cheap your going to have problems and it will cost more in the end.

Thanks for all the advice guys. And yes, I am planning on boosting it safely. No spraying, no meth. Above looks good, and is what I had expected tbh. Would an HKS bpv be useful in this setup? I really want to conserve that boost. :)
Another question.... relative ease of using an accessport? I am definitely new to tuning, new to modding. etc. (uhm)
Thanks

Its also worth noting that I'm still well under 500 miles and have really broke the ride in yet. As such I havent made/bought any mods yet. Am I playing it too safe or can I start swapping parts?

I guess when you think of it that way... the same can be said for most bolt on's, ie: header, intake, exhaust, im, fmic, etc. The power was there the whole time, but it's just come out of hidng (peep)

HKS wouldn't hurt, as for the AP its very simple. I never once did anything involving tuning/etc. Its as simple as plugging the AP in and turning the key.

I was waiting for someone to jump in and say meth is completely safe.... I don't know, haven't looked into injection yet
Some people will argue this, but our stock bpv does leak, although it may take 30k miles and only leak 1 or 2 psi for some people. I swapped mine out at about 1,000 to a hybrid turbo xs cause I wanted the sounds :D
I will agree with everyone else and say run it in recirculate. DO NOT run it in vta "just to see" because you will never want to go back! I had a very similar experience with a greddy type s in vta.
Also, yeah, AP is safe and easy, use it.(thumb)

I would hang on a bit and start working vendors for best pricing and or package deals. the car is so much fun stock I would hate for you to miss the experience. will you add mods piece by piece or all at once?

Piece by piece methinks. The car is tons of fun stock, I wont rush into it and run up a bill too fast.
