I thought there was a pipeline leak, and thats what is driving up the prices in your area...

They have shut down 20% of the refineries in the US due to the Huricane, so the gasoline supply is actually going to be tight.

No worries man
my 1400 gallon underground storage tank is 3/4 full! I filled it up back when gas was @2.50/gallon premium.

ok not really...

When I was a kid, we had an underground tank at home. Bet you couldn't get one now without a bunch of permitting hassles.

$3.30 for 93 at Kroger with my $.50 gal discount :) Four tanks worth at that discount too so mama is filling up the van as we speak....it takes the cheap stuff so it's $2.89 gal. Pretty sad when that's cheap :(

fuck man!

stick it out guys, it'll all work out. that's crazy though. there's absolutely NO reason for gas to be over $4, not matter what.

premium here in California is about $4.00-4.10

Someone I now saw over $5.00 a gallon here (in Raleigh) earlier today. I think it was just one station "gouging". The highest I can find locally when searching the 'net is $4.19 for regular. Shit. This sucks.

On my way home from work I saw several stations with regular at $5+. I passed like three stations before I found any regular PERIOD... I'm in Jackson, MS. They're saying that by next week, there won't be any gas here...

Yeah, we did. Most of the stations here started limiting each customer to 10 gallons at a time. Luckily, my little honda has a 10gal tank, so it filled me up!

lmao good thing shit like that doesn't happen up here in NY. the price definitely kills us though, traffic in the city is a bitch.

It's bull, the holding tanks at all the distributors around here are full. It's price gouging, nothing but.

my car is empty ill use my bike this week hopfully gas will come down soon im not going to pay 4.70

i can think of three reasons.

1 opec anounced they were cutting production.

2 huricanes came through back to back and the oil platforms were maned for 1-2 days before they had to re evacuate

3 20% of the refinarys are in galvasten right where it hit.

4 just thought of it but speculators getting back into the market.

I'm afraid to go check. Even though this state has stiff gouging penalties, if no deliveries to SE are expected we are just at the mercy of the stations. Shouldn't impact anyone not supplied by a Gulf coast refinery.

Guess I could of worded my post better. No doubt they will use any circumstance legitmate or otherwise to stick it to everyone. Unless your local refineries shut down and no deliveries are made, it should not impact you in the West, Mid-West, Mid Atlantic and NorthEast.
