I have been lurking for a while but I am so excited that I just had to post! At the end of the month my 2009 True Red Mazdaspeed3 GT will be arriving, and I can't wait!!! I don't know about the rims, but my brake calipers are definitely getting powdercoated!

Wow, that is quite the process to have done. You have to dis assemble the whole caliper for that you know... Not good for the seals. Powder coating comes before assembling the caliper... While you have them dis assembled though change out your pads.

Well honestly my dad is the king of powdercoating everything, and he has done it on other cars, so I was going to see what he said about it! I hadn't looked into it that much, but I also wanted to make sure it didn't void my warranty first.

Where are you at? I have some powder coating that I need done and surprisingly here in Detroit it isnt cheap. Just the sand blasting on our rims is over $30 a wheel. I have found chemical removal of our clear coat on the rims is about $12 a wheel but takes up to two weeks... Maybe I can ship my stuff to him/you and you can make some money off of me...

I'm in California, my parents live in Sacramento. I will ask him if he's interested, he is always looking for something to powdercoat! He has already done the brake calipers on my old miata, the exhaust manifold of my civic (which I didn't even ask him to do) and every single part of his boats huge engine. My mom always says if she fit in his oven that he used, he would powdercoat her! ha.

Just did the paperwork and reserved it "officially". It left Japan on 9/2, and I won't get it until around 10/2. (sad2)

Looks great. For clarification -- red is the quickest color for getting pulled over. Everyone knows that MGM is the fastest color!
