I have a question about performance chips, I've never really had too much experinece with brands as far as they go, the only one I've been able to find is from SLR Motorsports. Does anyone know of any other brands that may be better?

www.cobbtuning.com just came out. Other than that there's www.cp-e.com and www.piasiniengineering.it

Oh, there's also the Xede you can get at www.protegegarage.com

I have a 2004 Mazda6s wagon that my wife drives. Is there anyone out there that knows of a good chip for that car as well? Anyone with first hand experience? I haven't done anything to the car other than a drop in filter and probably never will do anything to it until the warranty is up. But we want to get more power from it and it would be nice to have a switch that will give it good fuel economy as well. Is there such a thing?

The SLR motorsport "chip" is a scam. It's probably as good as those Ebay chips.

Yes, the Xede or Standback EMS are both good choices with a map switch for two different setups. There's no "chip" though, there's only these piggyback/interceptor-type processors with dual map capability.
