depend on how much u can handle vibration...derlin will cost alot of vibrantion...

Is there a substantial difference between the two material as far as engine rocking and wheel hop?

I chose the poly and my engine/tranny barely move...

I went with the poly as well, there are increased vibrations, mostly noticeable at idle or with the ac on. It's plenty stiff enough for use as a daily driver and occasional track events. I dont have experience with the derlin but I dont think it would be necessary if your not planning to use it mostly at the track or high hp numbers.
