Electrical & Fuel Economy Questions

Just got a 2.0 LX Auto Protege about 3-4 months ago.

A few questions I have:

1. Is there a block-off plate available for where the 3rd brake light goes if you remove it?

2. My Overdrive button on my shifter handle doesn't come on and pressing the button does not seem to have an effect on the transmission.

3. My blower switch is weird. blower speed is fine on every setting, but A/C will only light up & work on settings 1 & 3. Problem with switch?

4. Is there a compatible manual steering rack in any Ford/Mazda model that can be swapped into an 01 protege?

5. I have a clunk noise from my front suspension over speed bumps & potholes. I think it's coming from my swaybar endlink on the right side. Is this common?

I know it's a bunch of questions, but I figured this is the best place to start =)

had the blower switch problem since i bought the car. i fix it and next year it goes again, just after the warranty. There's a fuse behind your glove box that you can replace and then it will work again for a while. Maybe yours will stay corrected.

clunk noise is never good. could be the endlink goin, highly recommend you get your car to a reliable machanic soon to have a once over.
