steering wheel

I was wondering it it is at all possible to take a mp5 steering wheel and put it into a 99 protege. Im assuming there would be some modification to the wheel, i just dont know how much. Any advice is great thanks.

It should be a 100% bolt on although you might need the clock spring for the 3 spoke wheel but I don't recall every hearing anything about that.

You will also need the airbag for the 3 spoke wheel.

ok, do you think the air bag wires will connect right to the car, or will i have to get creative with the wiring?

Hi Nick, Did you ever go through with that steering wheel swap? I was hoping to get some pointers, as I also want to replace the steering wheel on my 00. Haven't had any luck getting any responses to the similar topic I posted. Thanks!

I havent done it yet because I just got the cash for it not to long ago. Its a direct bolt on and the air bag plugs right in. Just make sure you have your wheels turned as straight as possible and take your time lining it up right.

How 'bout a picture thread when you finally get around to doing it? :) It would surely help me out when I do my install.

its possible, im not sure when im going to get to it, you might be waiting a while. I would search around if you havnt already. I know some pictures in the 3rd gen section have what it looks like installed.
